spun_cookie
a local shop was doing a WT American Honey promotional. They had the minis for $0.50. I picked up 10. They are a great desert drink and are perfect for giving samples. Still more than the juice is worth, but good find on the cheep 50ml bottles. Today was a fun day. I mapped out all of the liquor stores in Tucson, even though my best finds before lacked for the most part... It was more of the same, with the 2nd to last store giving up some Old WT 80 proffers from 1992 and 93 and I picked them up so I had something from the day. By the way, its not bad juice. Far better than todays 80 and maybe 101. Much deepeer. Now, the next and planned last store was a honey pot. The picture tells the message, but the best part is there are some goodies left. So any of you Tucson Bourbon Hounds that are in need of some juice PM me Now that I have reserched the Hirsch Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey 13 yr old here, I see that it is one hell of a find. I am looking forward to drinking that bad boy... early VW Rye - Yummy
dean_martin
Senor Rat Pack, is it the ORVW 10/90 or 10/107?10/90. This will probably be the next bourbon I open. The VW website doesn't show a retailer or distributor for AL and I've found only a few bottles across the state line in Pensacola, FL. In the two stores where I've found some, the folks there said it was hard to get. The Van Winkle selections are something I'll be looking for on any out-of-state travels in the future. cigarnv
On the recommendation of Emerald I picked up the Julio's RHF..... this is a very nice albeit addicting pour. Side by side with a standard bottling it revealed a deeper flavor concentration, a toffee sweetness and a much silkier mouth feel. The most significant difference was the length of finish which was much longer and deeper with the Julio's.
spun_cookie
... Julio's RHF..... addicting pourSo true. I have to be careful when I open on of these. They go down so easy and work so well with food and 'gars. It is very hard to tell it is a 100 proof while you sitting, sipping and chatting. funknik
Bought a WLW SR for my brother-in law's birthday....he's a Maker's fan and I'm trying to convert him. I also picked one up for myself of course...it's in the freezer chillin' out. :cool:I'm also giving him four minis of some of my choicest open bottles...this year's ER17, WTRB96, OCPR & ORVW 10/107 (he's going to love that one). I'm going to blow his doors off....he's very new to bourbon tasting, but not to drinking. I'll post his notes in the Maine chronicles.... MissingKY
Had my first ever Eagle Rare 10/101 find at a Florida liquor store. I think it's probably from the very, very end of the brand's production timeline because it's got a website address and email address on the label. Cracked it tonight and think it's quite tasty. It's not life-shattering or "Oh, God, I gotta go back and buy the store out!" but very good for something that's $19 a liter.
ThomasH
Hello, What part of Florida did you find the ER 101? I vacation there every summer and found a case last year. Depending on where your at, I may be able to steer you to more dusties. If there are any ABC liquor stores nearby, check them for Weller Centennial. That is the only place I found them in Florida!Thomas
fishnbowljoe
Yeah, I'm heading down in April. We're flying so I can't bring much back. But, I wouldn't mind finding one to put away when I'm down there. I think one could last me a week. Joe
MissingKY
Hey guys,I turned it up in Vero Beach. I've done quite a bit of dusty hunting while I'm down here, but it's the first thing I've bought. There is quite a bit of BHC OCPR floating around, but my bunker's already full of that. doubleblank
Were those Weller Antiques in black bags Jason? Seems that was a bottling that was originally intended for Duty Free but ended up in many markets here in Texas (and other states). I drank all mine but hope to see them again someday.Randy

WsmataU
Yup...that's 3 full cases of Willett's Family Estate Bottled Single Barrel BourbonDo you know if any of this will make it to DC? I got a few bottles of the 7 yr from Toddy's and really liked it. I was told the owner of the two "Bourbon" bar/restaurants has some interest in Willett's and manages to get it distributed to select  DC stores. I'm interested in the 18 yr if the price isn't too high.
OscarV
Out shopping this morning and had no intentions of getting any bourbon,at least that's what I tell myself, but I saw a bottle of Russell's Reserve at state minimum price. What the heck I thought it is 10 year old Turkey after all.I'll open it later.
