fishnbowljoe
Not today, but yesterday I bit the bullet and picked up two bottles of WTKS. Bottled in 1998. Haven't open one yet... Maybe tonight. Joe
Hondo
I had to go to Louisville today and I have a strict rule that whenever I am in Kentucky I must buy bourbon!Nothing fancy though, just picked up an Old Forester Signature and an Old Weller 107. These are new for me, I have never had the chance to try these before.Edit: Now I'm confused but that is pretty easily done. The bottle of Weller that I bought today says Old Weller The Original 107 Proof. It says 7 summers old on the label. When I try to look up info on this, I keep finding OWA but my label does not have the word Antique on it at all. It was bottled in Frankfort and Its a 375 ml bottle. I see two sets of numbers on the bottom of the bottle... 23 and then a 84. So my question... is this Old Weller out of production now or has the label just been changed? I don't find this listed on their website either.
gblick
Hondo, I'm pretty sure that is a recent bottling. They currently put that older style label on the 375ml bottles, I'm not sure why. And the newest bottles that just recently came out have that 84 on the bottom too, at least the ones I've seen.

fishnbowljoe
I bought a bottle of ERSB 10/90 yesterday. Long story about this one, that I will tell later. Joe
NYtaster
Picked up a new botttle of WT101 today and am enjoying it as I type. I still contend this is one of the best values out there. Perfectly balanced, dependably good and at a reasonable price. My goto most of the time.

Blitz
New to this forum and obviously in a steep learning curve. Picked up a bottle of Buffalo Trace and George Dickel #12. I have purchased much more expensive bourbons over the past year and did not think they were worth the extra money. I will try these over the long weekend and see what I think.Welcome to the forum Tarpon! Taste is so subjective, price promises nothing. Like all of us, you must try all bourbons and find the ones that please your pallette. Keep us posted.
JamesW
Just picked up a nice little wheater, Weller Special Reserve. I like it a bit better than the Antique and the Old Fitz BiB, just a tad smoother (perhaps the lower proof) and seems a touch sweeter

Attila
Rakuten, or Yahooauctions.co.jp, would be my guess. Nah, I hear he had it hand delivered actually (not from Japan). Impossible on Rakuten.I got two Weller Centennial (thanks Ed!), 1 ER17 and 1 WLW today.

smokinjoe
Had some good luck dusty hunting today...lots of BHC...picked up 3 slope-shouldered OCPR & 2 VSOFs. Those OCPR's are B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L !!!!! Some of the best whiskey ever made, IMHO.
mozilla
I agree, great job. Did you see any of the other BHC's? Seems odd that the other labels would leave the store before those bottles. IMO, those are the best of the group.

IMO, those are the best of the group.I have speculated that only the OCPR, VSOF & Weler Cent were available up here. I'm not sure if these have all been sitting on the shelf the whole time or whether they were inherited stock from somewhere else when the Maine Beverage Co took over all of the liquor stores in 2004..maybe sitting in a warehouse and recently put out on the shelves...I know that's the case with at least a few of these...I've found 5 VSOFs, 4 OCPRs and 1 Weller and those are the only three on the state tear sheet. I would love to get my hands on the Dickel & Harper just to complete the set, but I'm really happy with the bottles I have scored....I'd really love to find a couple more Wellers hanging around, too. The place I went to today was a little grocery store in a fairly quaint little tourist town called Kennebunkport....maybe they were counting on the Bush prezes to snatch up all those high priced bottles.
sotnsipper
Yesterday I picked up a bottle of Ezra Brooks 90 and another VOB BIB(giving this one last shot). Today I finally found the OF Repeal! Going to give it a try tonight!
PhilsFan
Had some good luck dusty hunting today...lots of BHC...picked up 3 slope-shouldered OCPR & 2 VSOFs. When I saw your three OCPRs, I was hoping that my own bottle would be waiting on the front step when I got home, and sure enough, despite very icy (uncleared) streets in my neighborhood and no mail delivery for the past three days...there it was, slope shouldered OCPR in box. If I could find a stash of OCPR like that in my neck of the woods, I'd buy 'em all... Great find...Well done! -joe

Take it back to the guy, but the other 3 that they were the same way.So I missed out on LoftWB, and got an Old Fitz (he threw in 2 Guinness' Beers) instead.
