Busy day around the house and yard so now relaxing. Enjoyed an '82 Cabin Still earlier and now sippin on some VOB.

Yesterday Josh AKA Josh came over to pick up some bottles I got for him in KY and we enjoyed,...

Parker's Heritage 2007 122.6

almost empty but I have a line on another.

Four Roses Mariage

so,so unique, it'll be a sad day when this is gone.

Four Roses 2009 Barrel Strength

with over a half dozen flavors and aromas it's bound to become another classic.

Van Winkle Lot B

in my all time top 5 but I have about 10 in my top 5.

W L Weller 2007 BTAC

this the best of the best.

Elijah Craig 12yo

this is the best bottle of EC12yo I have ever had, remind's me a little of Parker's.

Wild Turkey Rare Breed 1994 and a current bottle

of course the '94 was better.

Funny I don't remember all those bottles :slappin: But The Mrs & I do remember a great time, you & your bride are the best dude! :grin:

I was on vacation this last week and got some good sippin' in! Dr Entropy came over on Wednesday and we went round the world a few times, but the drinking highlight was definitely the bottle of '08 WLarueW I opened on Thursday. I took it with me on a two-night harbor cruise on a schooner and managed to put down half the bottle by Saturday night-- that is truly gorgeous stuff. I gotta take the second half slow to make it last, but I have had few bourbons as smooth and tasty as that one.

The '08 has a bit to much char as compared to the '07.

I ain't saying I don't like the '08, it's just the '07 is sqweeter.

Summer's coming to a close, as the kids start school this week. :( But, we may be having the hottest temps of the season. It's 9:30, and it's still about 90 degrees out. I like it hot, so I LOVE it, but I'm sure others are not so happy. No Bravos on the radio tonight, so I'm just listening to a symphony of cicadas, katydids, tree toads, and (a sure sign that Fall is on the way)...crickets. Cicadas are winning this battle of the chirps, tonight, so Summer ain't dead, yet. :woohoo: Enjoying it all, with a line-up of OGD 114, McScrooge's Weller Antique, a touch of Tribute, and my daughter's sheltie at my feet keeping me company. She's huffin' and puffin', so a bowl of ice water is trying to keep her hairy-self cool. I'll turn on the box fan for her, for good measure. :)

Come to think of it, I got me some 60's Old Crow in there, somewhere. This seems like an Old Crow kind of night. I'll finish up with that.

I ain't saying I don't like the '08, it's just the '07 is sweeter.

I've had the '06, '08 and '07 and I would rate them in that order -- nothing wrong with the '07, but I thought the other two were a lot richer and fuller. I may have to go another round with the '07 to check myself. ;)

Just got back from a Captians game, (Indians A afilliate) where they had dollar beer night.

I'm having a lot B as a night cap after most glorious victory!

Tomorrow it's front row Tribe seats behind the dugout.

I've had a bottle of WT 8 yr export open for some time now and it's been sitting in the bunker all by its lonesome so I pulled it out and am now enjoying some turkey. After that's gone, a pour of '69 Old Crow.

I did have OC12 before dinner yesterday and WT8 export with the blueberry/raspberry/red currant pie for dessert. The Turkey did go slightly better than the calvados we had with the same dessert the day before.

Glayva scotch liqueur mixed with EC, not as good as when I mixed Glayva with the 1792.

Followed by a dram of ETL, a real man's drink - if only because women's hands are too small to fit 'round the bottle!

I've drank a couple of bottles of Cotes du Rhone tonight with my roommate, then took a hit of a nice local brown ale;

Real Ale Brewhouse Brown Ale (good stuff/chocolately) and then a neat dram of Knob (huge Liquorish and pink Bazooka Joe)...

It is all very nice with the red wine coating in my mouth.

the wine coating completely enhanced or primed my pallate.

I'm serious.

Earlier I sipped on some '08 Handy and then moved on to Old Forester BIB while sitting on the front porch smokin a stogie.

Since I'm up in Montreal for the week (and the bourbon here is shite), I'm drinking what I could haul over the border. I brought over a bottle of ORVW 10/107 and a Lot B and also filled 2 flasks with WLW 2008 and Wathens'. For some reason I'm really missing and craving some WT 101 though :crazy:. They had the 8 year at the duty free on the way into Canada (1 liter for $20) but I already had many bottles of wine etc ... in the trunk so I figured I'd get some on the way back. I called the duty free to see if they have any and just my luck they don't carry it on the Canadian side. All they have is Beam and Woodford.... they might as well be selling fruit baskets.

I just poured the last couple of shots thru a brown coffee filter of WLarueW 2007.

That done, I am sipping it neat.

More where that came from.

I started drinking this older ORVW10/90 and I found it tastes damn near identical to Weller Centennial. Guess who is bunkering bottles all bottles from this year the store has...

Glayva mixed with 1792. You pour the 1792 first - it's lighter - and then the Glayva on top. All these little swirls appear, and the mixture clouds up briefly before clearing. Stick in the freezer to chill to taste. And it tastes very, very yummy!

A little WR my wife brought home for me. I'm warming up to WR, it's not as bad as I've previously stated here. Not real complex or deep, but I like the copper. They should call it "Copperwood Reserve," you taste more copper than wood.

Had some Blanton's recently and was impressed, gotta get more of that stuff when I settle back in to home life.

After months of working my way from drinking with coke, to a splash of water, to on the rocks, to a single cube, I've finally graduated to NEAT!!!!WWWWHHHHHOOOOOOHHHHOOOOOO!

Had a pour of Pappy 15 followed by a ORVW 10/90...sad when you're not getting a burn at 90 proof! :D

Thanks Joe...going to continue the hunt for ER 101 tomorrow...I have all the liquor stores in Downers Grove, Lisle, and Naperville on the list for tomorrow...I'll let you know what I find! :)
