Started with OFitz BiB after mowing the grass and EW 2000 while grilling .... moved on to a few pours of WTKS ... I'm on a WT kick lately.

I'm currently watching a movie with a glass of EW BIB. Personal favorite. :D

Some OT 6/80 - not tasting too good tonight - followed by a pour of Blantons...much better!

Started the evening with Eagle Rare SB 10 y/o. Will probably finish with it.

EW green 80 proof on the rocks. This stuff is bitter and rather unpleasant neat, but a couple of ice cubes opens up a sweet corn and tasty oak character that makes it a decent pour. I don't know if I'll buy another bottle, but it's not bad.

GTS 141.4 with water.

My wife's niece and her three young children were over today. In three hours I witnessed more noise and commotion in my house than I have in the past 25 years.

I need a muscle relaxant. (Or two.)

A bit of SW Old Fitz BIB (which reminds me quite a bit of OWA), and then later at a party, some current OGD 114. That is pretty good stuff, bit whoa: be careful.

Lot B.

RE: 114 that is the pour I have the hardest time with. I can drink pours of higher proof than that and be fine but the 114 it flows and things start getting buzzy real easy for me.

Buddy's 49th bday party so of course we started with OFBB 2010. Moved on to Wathens, OWA 107, Bulleit, and ended with a Hirsch that I'm not sure exactly what provenance it was. Obviously there was more than one pour of each for me not to remember something like that. :-). If I recall it was blue wax, but I could be hazy...we did empty that bottle after all. (as well as a couple if the others ;-))

Had some friends over whose bourbn experience had been limited to WR. Treated them to a smorgasbord that include FRSB, PHC10, WTAS, and Weller 12.

Chalk up two more converts.

I had pours of PHC 2010 124.2 and 127.8 last night...both versions are very good and more alike then different...nice work by the guys at HH producing a VERY good wheated bourbon!

Lot B tonight. Nearing the end of the bottle. Need to start thinking about what the replacement will be.

Love these types of decisions.

Was at a wonderful wedding today - the bourbon choices were JD and Jim Beam White - went with the JB White, first time, and given what I had been reading on this site wasn't expecting much. But on the rocks with the festivities and a generous pour, it was just right. I can see why this expression would be popular with the non-enthusiast crowd.

Having a taste of Tom Moore BIB from pre-UPC days. I can't read the tax strip dates. Excellent whiskey to my palate.

Working on finishing an open bottle of Four Roses Small Batch. Trying to thin out the open bottles.

Who wouldn't convert with that selection! John, you certainly treat your guests well.

This morning a little WLW 117.9. A little latter in the day than usual but I had some yard work I wanted to do that required using the gas trimmer, a very dangerous tool that is not compatible with alcohol consumption.

A blend of bourbons, lots of ice given the current heat, 1970's Angostura bitters, and Pernod for the anise hit. Light dash water. A refreshing whiskey cocktail, and I now seem more times than not to be drinking bourbon or rye in this form (generally the Sazerac or the Manhattan).

True, but just think of the entertainment you could have provided the neighbors!

That's the '07 Larue right?

My favorite.

Oscar,

You're right on both counts. Fortunately, my neighbors are common folks and are easier to entertain than that.
