I found a PHC 10 at the state price the other day of course I had to make the retailer happy. It was my duty as a good American.

Good find on the PHC 10, they seem to be getting harder to find around here and elsewhere as well.

They're very hard to find. I think I've given up on the idea of find more at the state price.

I picked up a bottle of PVW 15 and ER 17. I'm gambling on both since I haven't tried either. I know ER 17 doesn't have too many fans around here, but I like ER 10 enough to justify the purchase to myself. As for the Pappy, I went to the local high-end whiskey bar the other night to try a few things I've been wanting to (one being PVW 15), but at $20 for 1oz I opted for the GTS at a far more reasonable $9/oz.

Found an orphan 09 GTS that was in need of a home. I guess the 09 must not have been very popular in MI, this is the second bottle I've found in two weeks, and the only BTAC I've been able to find.

Bought my first bottle of GTS and am currently drinking it neat with a splash of water. Only $75 for the bottle, so I'm happy with the find.

Nice find! '09 is the best year GTS of any that I have tasted and, quite possibly, the best release of Stagg so far.

Learned another lession today about posting find before you clear them all out...I picked up a BMH 23yr Rye a couple weeks ago and posted that I had found some locally. I left behind 5 more as I wanted to see if it was worth it before getting the rest...it appears the local members and lurkers had another location search to see if there were any in the chain and boom...one location shows 5 in stock. Needless to say when I went back to grab the rest today there were only 2 left. Now I know for a fact that it was from here as these have been sitting in the back room there since 2008 and the manager said "man it was weird, right after you bought that first one I had two guys call within a couple days asking for that bottle"...lesson here, don't post anything you want to get at a later date! :rolleyes:

I did grab some other goodies that were in hiding there though:

2 Vintage 17yr wheated bourbon @$58.50

2 BMH 23yr Rye @ $84.99

1 Pappy 15 @$51.99

1 JRPS 18 @$77.50

I also grabbed some Bell's Hopslam and a handle of Jameson...;)

Matt, did you pick the Weller !2yr up in state? I've always had to bring some back from IL when I wanted it.

Did you find those Old Potrero and Wathens in the cities? Never seen those!

Picked up 2 bottles of Rare Breed right around the corner from each other: an 01-91 and an 01-97. I was going to leave the 97 behind and jot down the location, but the clerk was calling the owner to get the price. When she wrote $16.99 on the paper, I smiled and paid. :grin:
