Yes but will the juice be of the same high quality as the seemingly favorite benchmark voiced by most about batch #1? That is the $64,000 question. Anxious to find out and radar is up for this next wave.

FWIW, we did a blind tasting of the first 3 releases at our GBS meet-up on Saturday. Most agreed that there was not a lot of differentiation between the 3 batches. Of the 15 people who participated, myself and one other brilliant taster chose Batch 3 as the favorite. 7 Losers chose Batch 1, and 6 other Losers chose Batch 2 as their favorite...:D. I will be working on helping these people refine their palates to be better, like mine...;)

Well, even as a regular release, I just don't see picking up an ECBP as ever being like walking into a store and buying a bottle of Buffalo Trace (even though apparently just buying BT isn't what buying BT used to be, with shortages and all). It may be regular release, but it is still clearly limited, at least for now. And if it stays between $40-$50, it's still a bargain at that price and will remain hugely popular. And I think the days of seeing oodles of OFBB sitting on the shelves are done and gone (again, assuming it hovers around the $50 mark). It has "that buzz" now. And Joe, I am with you on preferring the Batch 3, but it really is splitting hairs. They're all dang good.

I would expect the availability of ECBP to be similar to that of Stagg Jr.. On the shelves briefly as batches are released, then gone for a few months until the next batch or release.

Bingo! Who would expect less from the BOTY!! I absolutely love batch 3 and have declared it the best bourbon I've ever tasted. Have not had 2 and only a sample of #1. What a lovely pour. Great to know that HH keeps that kind of finely aged bourbon around and is now willing to part with it at barrel proof. Who was the other genius?

In defense of one of the 7 losers, my palate was way past its prime at the time of the ECBP taste-off  That night, I thought Batches 1 & 2 were very close, with Batch 3 a distant 3rd. But when I first opened my Batch 3 - I thought it was damn near identical to Batch 1. Although to be clear - ain't none of em bad! ;)

The email went to my spam folder so it was long gone by the time I went to buy it online. I have looked high and low for this in my area and most stores have never even heard of it. The good news is since they have no idea what it is, they have never asked the distributor and they can hopefully start acquiring it. I have noticed that a few of the limited releases are starting to show up around here and everyone is so focused on Pappy and BTAC that they generally sit in the reserve room collecting dust.

Wow! That's quite a stash DBM. I have three in the bunker and may entertain grabbing some more since it's still out there.

Nice collection DBM! I'd love to have that many ECBPs from any batch! Such an outstanding pour (and IMHO, not beaten for the price).

I forgot to check in on the results. We were busy on the porch solving a physics problem, or some discussion of nuclear fission, while lighting up some fresh cigars. I chose "A" across the board. So, which was which, if anyone has any memory of the late events of another great GBS evening.

There's a Batch 4 hitting the shelves now (66.2%/132.4pf)

Around here or in general? I was out today and didn't see any.

We've had VERY limited supply here in Indy. I've only found one lonely bottle on the shelf.

I don't think we ever got batch three here in VA.

I have to confess I do not understand what Heaven Hill is doing with this expression. If they are going to sell it at a fair price, why not just release it in enough volume that people can actually find it? If it is "just" Elijah Craig, undiluted and unfiltered, wouldn't there be enough stocks to do such a thing?

Can not seem to find it here in the NYC area. Just get the usual pissy "we're not selling you our good stuff (unless there's some grease money involved)" or "that came in and was all sold out early last year" routine from most stores.

I imagine it will start to become more available soon. It's slowly moving out of the sights of collectors and profiteers now that they realize that it's not a truly limited release. Once the shelf clearing effect subsides we should start to have it be readily available.

It's already starting to happen in some markets - Batch 3 lingered for a while around these parts.

Trey, Hope you are right. May be batch 8 before that happens though:rolleyes:

It won't linger if I happen upon it. Love this juice!
