And yes it is weird that the north east seems flush with this stuff.. We usually aren't spoiled with anything bourbon wise.. I think the trend is also continuing with Stagg Jr, I am almost tired of seeing it

Yesterday was the first time I've seen a case of Stagg Jr on a shelf in San Diego. Marked up a good bit so I passed ($80) but I wouldn't mind seeing it a bit more regularly.

Every mid-size and larger store in Delaware seems to have at least a case or 2 and it is all priced at MSRP. I am shocked as Buffalo Trace distributes very little bourbon to Delaware.

The Total Wine chain had some through around Christmas that I assume was batch three. I still have a couple bottles so wasn't in the market. It looks like it came and went quickly.

The Issaquah Bevmo has a few bottles as of yesterday.

I am trying really hard to find a couple of Bottles of the EC 12Year Barrel Proof.. I live in S.W. Florida and so far the 4-5 stores I have checked in do not have this in stock.. I read some very good reviews on this.. Creggor

Hey.. how are you guys distinguishing between the batches? Proof? I was able to get one last yr. in ky at the gift shop, not the same label as the retailers one,and is slightly lower in proof 129.7 than the retailer, although this label does state age 12 yrs. I have only seen one of the darker labeled ones and that was in bardstown right after I got this one, there was only 1 left .. I should of snagged it, but this one I just opened and I am an avid ec12,18,20 fan - this one was fantastic with a bit of water and letting sit, It also brought a smile to my face. I also emailed HH about not having it around here, they told me it's coming again in March.. Got my feelers out already.

The proof is the only way I know of to distinguish between batches. I too only have 129.7 and love it. I wish I would have picked up a couple at the GS :-)

Todd, thanks again for the heads up here and via PM! I went today and they still had three bottles in the glass case. Said they had more in back so I bought all three (1 is for a coworker).

More on topic: Strangely, I was lucky enough to score some batch 1 of ECBP, but that is still the only time I have ever seen any of the iterations in these parts. My expectation was that later batches would be much easier to find.

I picked up 3 of batch 1 in the wild, never seen the other two on a shelf (although scored a batch 3 from the local whiskey monger that never hit the shelf). I had hoped the same, that future batches would be more plentiful. Thankfully of the two I tried, ain't a bad one yet :yum:

I only saw a few bottles of batch 1 in my area and several times more batch 2s. Haven't seen batch 3 yet.

Can someone list the different batches for me? Thanks.

Batch 1 - 134.2 proof

Batch 2 - 137 proof

Batch 3 - 133.2 proof (if I remember it right)

Thanks -- H ! I only have the Gift shop ver. of 129.7 I wonder if all the gift shops batches vary also, so probably 2 different sets of batches including the gs versions.

I think the GS version will vary too. The last ones that I bought (that aren't yet in my possession) are supposed to be 133 proof.

So, batch 3 is 133 instead of 133.2? i haven't seen one...just from recollection of reading previous posts.

People are mixing up the GS releases with the national releases in the discussion. I don't know anything about GS bottles, but the 3rd national release is "devil's batch" 66.6%, 133.2 proof.

This is the correct.

And the GS versions are supposed to be predecessors to the public release. There were many GS version, maybe six or seven.

Public releases had been three only so far.

GS version is also more expensive >20% and in person only.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Huh, 6 or 7 GS releases? I wonder what the proofs were for each? All I've seen is maybe two...129.X and I think a 130.X.
