BMartin42
Not purchased, but received a Rod & Rifle bourbon for a birthday gift. Never heard of it before, but father in law thought I might enjoy it since it has a hunting & fishing theme. Hmmm. Neat bottle, apprehensive about what's inside. HighInTheMtns
There are all kinds of references to it being 2 year LDI, but it's apparently now 4 year old from... theglobalguy
It has been in republics warehouse since late last week. I'm guessing they were figuring out allocations. Same old "much less than last year" song and dance.I have dreams that one day I received a phone call and my rep told me, "good news, we are getting you more than last year". Then I woke up.You think they'd have a spreadsheet or something worked out beforehand. Now i picture 10 reps playing poker for who gets the most bottles for their area. I'm amazed how many more restaurants/bars i'm seeing the BTAC in these days, leads me to believe that's the real roadblock to higher store allocations. Those $70 bottles of chardonnay are just flying off the shelves.Having your product front and center on a bar is free advertising but its not the high end products sitting on the bar of multi million dollar restaurants that is allowing the distilleries to thrive. Its the store selling boatloads of burnetts, heaven hill or taaka vodka.
final442
Picked up a bottle of Black Maple Hill small batch for around $45. I have not heard great things about the NAS, but this is the first time I have seen it on the shelves so I am going to give it a go.

I have not heard great things about the NAS, but this is the first time I have seen it on the shelves so I am going to give it a go.I've only had it once and really enjoyed it, but I keep hearing that the batchs vary in quality. The price is steep but I'm always willing to give something a try, at least once.

Wryguy
I went in to my local for some beer and a looksie at the bourbon. I also had a drop in my flask to share with the local whiskey monger, and he pulled out a Stagg Jr. for me to take home. Nice to have a backup.
