Followed GTS '11 with GTS '13. The 11 wins hands down, but 13 is still a nice pour with a splash of water.

Thanks for the notes. I have a '13 open now that I enjoy very much and an '11 in the bunker. I'm now looking forward to the '11 even more.

Tonight I had some WT101 before dinner and have moved on to high proof ryes after dinner to combat the spiciness of the food.

The 11 is just so natural as a massive proof cinnamon spice bomb that doesn't need water. The 13 becomes creamy and pleasant with the right mix of water, but it's much hotter than the 11 despite the much lower proof.

How does the '12 compare to those two? I traded for a '12 and it's en route.

2 and a half pours if 4RSmB while binge watching True Detective while the wife was at girls night. Tasty bourbon to go along with an awesome show. Ready for the season finale.

True Detective is fucking incredible. I plan on having some generous pours of quality juice for the finale. :)

Tonight, following a 12 hr film shoot... having pours of BT and EWB while catching up on Justified.

* put a cherry in each pour of EWB, cause I like to live on the edge. I'm crazy like that.

Stopped by a late night bar after work for some WT 101. This is still great bourbon. Full flavored, tastes great, makes me happy after a hard night getting 20 somethings drunk.

FRSB - this bottle has a bit of a nip on the back, so dropped it to about 95 proof by adding a bit of FRYL. Perfect.

Started with some Redbreast 12 CS last night, which I loved the last time I had it roughly 10 days ago. Good this time around, but didn't pack the same punch for some reason. Then on to my version of the SB blend (a bit of WLW added) and finished the night off with some KC, which seemed to hit the spot.

While reading posts this morning and realizing that I miss Squire sharing wisdom with us decided to have some EWBIB in me coffee.

Cheers to Squire and his quick return.

After guessing the VBT of AAA 10 yr. decided to have a generous pour to try and chase the remainder of this flu crap away.

Started off today with a small pour of FRSB OBSV 17yr. WOW, just awesome! Wish I had stocked up on this, but still very happy to have one bottle.

After having an AAA bloody mary with my steak n egg breakfast, I'm now enjoying a short pour of refrigerated HH BIB 6yr. It never fails to satisfy.

I discovered a few years ago that I'm not a fan of BT's rye recipe bourbons as a stand alone pour. But I do buy them( BT or AAA ) just for my bloody mary's

Does OFS = Old Forester Signature?

What is the recommended ratio? I'm curious to try this one.

It does mean Old Forrester Sig. 50/50 ratio is what I tried. Has a great mouthfeel, and felt to me like a lower proof than it is. I love to experiment with mingles, but aside from SB Blend I don't often make more than a few ounces. I'm going to give this one another test drive, but based on my first two tastes, I think I need a 750 of it. Although before that, I'll probably plan with some other ratios just to see if I something else is even better.

I haven't done the 11 and 12 SBS, but the 12 smokes the 13.

Good ol' Dan, always doing the lord's work.

Sipping some Weller 12. This is either an exceptional batch or it's just been a long 6 months since I've had it.

Finishing the last of my BTEC Extended Stave Drying Time. Really tasty dram once it had a day or two to breathe. Great cinnamon, brown sugar, and cherry notes, with just a hint of caramel and bubblegum. Dumped the very last ounce into my solera bottle, which has otherwise been marrying for the last month or so. May take an ounce or two next week to see how it's coming along.

Having a small sip of ETL tonight. This bottle is down to one more pour, so probably finish it off tonight.
