DBM
Something about bourbon and BBQ just works.I'm working on my Old Medley 12 yr tonight. Nothing special, not excited about it at all. I'm kill the bottle mode with this one.
flahute
I made the same mistake. If I haven't mentioned it already, I wouldn't drink it neat but it made a decent Old Fashioned and I killed the bottle rather quickly. Assuming you like an Old Fashioned, this is the easy way out. whiskeyagonzo
Been working on my HH6BiB. Not really a pour that leaves me speechless but hey for the price, age and proof not a bad deal at all.
Kyjd75
Last night had a fire in the fire pit, reflecting on UK's NCAA success so far. Wife and I enjoyed some PVW 15.
KyleCBreese
I am going to try my bottle of Jefferson's Ocean II tonight while watching Justified. With only 2 episodes left, it should be a good one.
smokinjoe
Back home, after a quick biz trip to Kansas City. Grabbed the Virgin Bourbon, dropped a dollop (OK, Dollop(s) ) over it and a coupla cubes, and am enjoying it immensely out back listening to the Braves pre-game show on the radio. Phil T
I cracked a bottle of Very Old Beaver tonight. Since I'm a sucker for limited, high priced one offs, purchasing this was a definite no Brainer. The nose is slightly musty, a little medicinal, and dare I say...fishy. But not surprising, when you consider how old this Beaver is. It is apparent that it was not properly aged, but rather, rode hard and put away wet...seems as though the warehouse (rickhouse) employees did not take care with this whiskey.Oh well. It was limited and high priced. The perfect recipe for any NDP bourbon...mmmmmmm Very Old Beaver
theglobalguy
Ended up at a Compass Box tasting event, but got to try WT RR store pick, guess the first shop that got in line in Jan when they started their barrel program. Tasted nothing like any RR I've had before and was a caramel bomb.

tylermke
My wife brought home a new dog tonight and it's been pretty hectic. Finally sitting down with something barrel proof to melt away the stress. 2011 GTS in the glass and it's almost time for Fallon.

Harry in WashDC
At a restaurant tonight, I noticed they listed BT as a cocktail component. I had one BT neat before dinner. After dinner, the dessert/aperitif menu arrived. Among a few other things, they listed Saz 18. I had a glass. How can any 18 YO whiskey taste so cool, fruity, floral, and NON-oaky?
KyleCBreese
Opened my bottle of Jefferson's Ocean II. Have to say, I was not impressed. It tastes almost exactly like the standard baseline Jefferson's.

hn4bourbon
I am slowly learning that. Hopefully this new dog puts off kids for another year. Two if I'm lucky. The longer you wait, the harder it gets. it doesn't get any easier with age:) ask me how I know:) Anyway, I have a pour of beam signature finished with Spanish Brandy waiting to be sipped. I can't make myself sip it since this cigar is tasting so good by itself still. On my back porch, great temperature out, slight cool breeze, clear skies. Enjoying myself catching up on the new posts here.
