Max Power
Never tried that distillery. Wonder if it's worth taking the plunge...It was like a more honey/floral Clynelish. I enjoyed it and thought that it was really solid for the price.

garbanzobean
I received my bottle of K&L Caol Ila 1983 today. To top it off, I stopped by my local bottle shop and noticed they had a ton of Bowmore Tempest Batch 2 sitting on the shelves from 2010, so I picked one up to try. I had been planning on going back for the Bowmore Dorus Mor batch 1, but figured I'd rather have the stuff that came prior to the forced name change. Max Power
K&L had a nice little 24 hour sale on some malts. Picked up some more Mortlach 25, Longmorn 21 and Littlemill 25. I've got too much whiskey coming in, but I couldn't pass it up at those prices.
bjhowell
Picked up an Ardbeg Nam Beist in a little store for retail. Had passed on it last week and had so many give me grief, I went back and got it.
garbanzobean
Bruichladdich Laddie 10. It lasted about 20 minutes before I opened it.

I will be near their store in another week as well, I could have ordered for PU!!!For me I came home from Vegas with a Kilkerran WIP 4 and Ardbeg Auriverdes. I know, people seem to like to hate on the Ardbeg but we tried it and my wife and I really enjoyed it. It's not worth the ~$140 after tax it costs here in WA state, but for the ~$86 after tax in Vegas I said why not.

tanstaafl2
A thoughtful friend/mule has brought me a bottle of the new Teeling Single Grain Whiskey that was finished in California red wine (Cabernet?) barrels as well as a back up of the Teeling 21yo Single Malt Sauternes finished Silver Reserve. Don't have them in my hot little hands yet but I will soon.Yum!http://teelingwhiskey.com/teeling-whiskeys/Was hoping to add another Yellow Spot as well but unfortunately the report was that they were out at the duty free. heydobro
I picked up a bottle of Bernheim last night for only $20. It is being delisted in Ohio and was originally $26. I tried a pour recently at a bar and like having a bottle to show new whiskey drinkers the differences in taste grains can make
HD 335
This is what happens when Bevmo sends me a 20% off coupon and I get a new credit card where I get $200 back for spending $500.

chrisg
I found a Balvenie 17 Sherry Oak from 2007 with a thick layer of dust on it. It now has a good home.

Don't have them in my hot little hands yet but I will soon. A picture of the new Teeling single grain. Whiskey is from Cooley, like presumably most everything coming from Teeling for the near future, that was likely intended for blending or the Cooley Greenore single grain. The wine cask finish is the little bonus. Was going to try them last night but got distracted by some other whiskies and didn't get to it.
Auracom
Dusty find! Noticed an Ardbeg 10 in older packaging and gave the bottle a peak - L7 bottle code, meaning bottled in 2007. I like the lineup listing from the tasting notes pamphlet.

garbanzobean
Purchased a Nikka Taketsuru 17 today @ $149. I could have gotten it about 20 dollars cheaper elsewhere, but it would require about an hour of driving, which renders the discount pointless. I haven't seen much in the way of reviews on this yet from blogs I follow. Frankly, I have yet to be disappointed by Japanese whisky (excluding the $285 price tag on Yamazaki 18, which puts it on my "not going to bother" list), so I am expecting great things out of this one. HD 335
Dude, nice work! Remember seeing a couple Mac Cask's out on the W coast for around $90 IIRC when I was out there earlier this year. Had to leave them cause the suitcase was full. Glad others are still picking them off the shelves. Just curious, what's the ABV on those?
MtnDew
I just picked up some bottles from K&L including a Bowmore, Glenlivet, and Benrinnes. Looking forward to trying them when I get back home.
tanstaafl2
I have yet to try any of the Nikka offerings. I too have yet to be disappointed by any Japanese whisky that tried. I snagged a bottle of the Yamazaki 18 for $130 not too long ago. Now it's $199 these days. $285 is just plain ridiculous!
