bananaslug
Drank Stagg Jr last night. Now Bulleit tonight. Kind of astonishing to go from such a beast to something so drinkable. Are these both bourbon? Feels like Im drinking two kinds of alcohol...

Had some Blanton's, ER 10, Blanton's, BT, Blanton's, AE, Blanton's, Lexington Bourbon, and topped it off with some Blanton's. Also had a darned good cheeseburger too. And some Blanton's. :toast:Cheers! Joe

flahute
Just spent a couple days deep in Canadian coastal back country in northern BC at remote project site. How does an architect make friends with a bunch of contractors and laborers? Bring whiskey of course! Some Wild Turkey 101 was a crowd pleaser. Had my first sip from the bottle in a hotel on the way up and it had a surprisingly thicker and creamier mouthfeel than previous bottles. Quite nice. Here's my view whilst sipping.... mbroo5880i
Traveling for work. The restaurant we ate at didn't much selection but since work was paying I had to order something. I opted for Makers Mark. It is good for what it is. Followed up with a pour of EWSB 04 which I brought with me. The EWSB is significantly better. It'd been a year or so since I last tried it, and didnt like it....but bought another one to do a 100 proof blind tasting a few weeks ago. still dont like it. How can this and 114 be the same stuff?!is the 114 older and/or just proofed different?
tylermke
It's unseasonably cool tonight in Milwaukee, so I took advantage of it and poured myself some 2011 Stagg. Stellar stuff...
thebwood
ER10. It has turned into one of my favorite standard pours. I remember when I used to baby a $25 bottle of bourbon, hehe.

BB Slim
Yep, that's about it, wish you'd been around when the BIB was 8 year age stated.Wouldn't that be essentially a higher proof Basil Hayden's?
amg
Wouldn't that be essentially a higher proof Basil Hayden's?Depending on what Beam means by "small batch" the profile might be a bit different, but pretty much. Since current Basil Hayden is no longer age stated, an 8 year OGD BiB would be superior in every way.
cnybrbnhntr
My first taste of the 14 year. Ive had the 10 and the 7 before this. In my opinion the 14 was not a huge step above the 10. It was good, just not overwhelming. Paid $17. Next up was PHC Blend Of Mashbills. Love this stuff and it was only $12 from a brand new bottle.
