I like them both, so I'd get whichever of the two that may be available (including a new girlfriend that is willing to go all the way:rolleyes:).

Had an absolutely delicious JPS18 Batch 8 at a local restaurant tonight. Amazing to see it in the wild. Going back tomorrow to kill the bottle.

After having spent the better part of two days at a swim meet (being quite jealous that the kids actually do get to be in the pool), EWSB is quite delicious.

Willet 2 year old Rye. Not sure I would have sold this yet if I were them. Yesterday, perhaps smitten with a brand new purchase, I described it as "almost refined for its age." I don't share the same sentiment tonight. I poured it right after devouring a prime ribeye, so perhaps it was asking a bit much to follow that on my palate. I'll return to the bottle in week or two. Hopefully, I find it more enjoyable on a another occasion.

Thought I'd ease in to the evening with a Balvenie Double Wood, but found it lacking. So, figuring it needed some muscle, added a healthy topping of ECBP. Probably finished up at 70:30 BDW to ECBP, and the result was wonderful. The Balvenie was able to hang on and provide a juicy and fruity nose, and the ECBP took over from there, but didn't completely drown out the Balvenie. All in all , a nice combo to finish things up.

J - I do believe 3 bottles for you to carry and 3 bottles for your girlfriend would be the best way to enjoy.

I poured the last of a mingle I made up; 50-50 Old Forester Signature and Wild Turkey 101.

Mostly similar profiles. Similar Proof.

This one starts with two solid pours that are both rye-forward Bourbons, then makes a 'sum-is-greater-than-the-parts' mingle... Very enjoyable. :yum: I need to make it up again.

Visited my folks at the lake in MN and my dad had an old bottle (1974) of Old Fitz BiB - was a great sipper while I watched the sunset in the cove!

I've looked up at the Canada custom site and it said 40 oz per person for more than a week on the us, so i was thinking the Max would be 26oz x3 ... !

And our customs agents are not really friendley, ill try not to mess with them

Bury that sucker!

I found one in the wild last October sometime. There were 4 on the shelf, I took the batch 8 with the $100 in my pocket and left the rest. Later heard someone came in and bought them all. Too bad that person got rye in his/hers (DOH!!). :P

Done and done. $10/1.5oz . I don't think they knew what they had.

First pour of Rhetoric, and about what I expected. Not very sweet - a subtle cinnamon note under the sour oak notes. 20 yr bourbon (with rare exceptions thus far) just aren't right in my wheelhouse. A couple drops of water really improved it though, and after making a 200 mL bottle for comparing later releases - I'm hopeful some air time will do it well.

Just poured some Knob Creek over ice in a small glass. Tasty stuff. :yum:

I'm having a little Knob Creek 120 proof myself.

trying the Old Bardstown 100 again, neat. pretty nice while in the mouth, but the finish takes a nosedive faster than any other. You could either not like this one at all as a result, or just keep drinking it until you get sh#@faced....take your pick

that said, im pretty sure this is HH stuff, and I do likes me some HH
