drunk
Picked up my first OWA in a few years probably, along with a Weller 12 from another store. Might have to cook up the old SB blend, which I haven't done since I first joined this group. Also grabbed a FRSB from Malloy's - a OESK at 9 yrs and 3 months, 58.9%. Barely dipped into it yet, but it's pretty easy drinking with a nice oak presence. Still have my old Binny's OBSK, so I'll have to line those up soon and take some notes. Also grabbed my first HW Double Rye, which is bangin'!Forgot to add that you guys are a terrible influence. I've never had Baker's or SAOS, so I'll be headed back to get those soon. n811
Why? It is just as good, if not better, and was probably less expensive.I'm sure it will be good, and I think it was a good buy at $40. I'm just butt hurt that Willett doesn't distribute to Michigan, especially after some of the glowing reviews smokybeast have given their products. I'd love to get some of their self-produced WFE rye. Underhilltab
That's amazing you found the ORVW at retail this long after the release in Sept./Oct. Do you mind sharing the price?
ThirstyinOhio
Picked up two bottles of Rhetoric. I haven't been that impressed with the other Orphan Barrel offerings, but I still have that desire to try everything and the 2nd bottle is just in case I do like it. chrisg
Not bourbon but I picked up a TPS Single Barrel Corsair Triple Smoke 134 proofer.
kjbeggs
Grabbed a couple bottles of Rhetoric (one for me, one for a buddy), followed by a wasted trip to pick up a bottle of the new Willett Rye. Guy on the phone told me it had Green foil and printed proof. As soon as I walked in, I saw the bottle on the counter with it's Green Wax and 4-year age statement... flahute
AFAIK, the 2yr has the foil, 4yr has the wax.Correct. The 2yr has foil. They are transitioning to foil for all future bottling so the wax will become a thing of the past.

Fpst
Went to the liquor store last night and spent about 3x the amount I was planning on. Ended up having to justify a lot of my purchases to the wife, which luckily wasn't as hard as it would have been if I hadn't picked up some FR (her favorite). I got a couple bottles of FR Private Selection Barrel Strength: OBSO & OBSK, Barterhouse (it was on sale for $65 and I'm curious about it), 2 bottles of ETL (the first time I've seen it on a shelf in almost two years), and a W12 (also the first time I've seen it in almost two years. I would have bought more but it was the only bottle). So you see, I just had to get all those.
GerryM
On my weekly lunch break cruise I found one each of ETL regular and ETL Commemorative at the easy price of $26 & $27. I was shocked to see them just sitting there. I think the retailer may be putting out only a couple at a time to spread the wealth. I know his last batch of regular ETL was gone in less than a day. Great price on the Barterhouse too.

jasmorg1075
The beach hasn't been a total bust, picked up an EWSB 02 sitting in a line of 8 04's. He looked lonely so I grabbed him to join my other half full 02. I've liked this better than 03 or 04.
SLOandSteady
Picked up ETL (x2) thanks to a heads up from a fellow SFer. Still looking for the elusive WL12 around these parts. Also found two bottles of Smooth Ambler Old Scout Rye on clearance for $31/bottle.
Fpst
Great stuff. What's the proof and age on the OBSO? It's my favorite recipe. Great price on the Barterhouse too.Proof is 116.6. It doesn't have an exact age on it, just says "Distilled October 21, 2003." I forgot to ask when they had it bottled, but I'm pretty sure it was in the past month as I don't remember seeing it last time I was there. So... 10.5 years maybe? I'll ask next time I'm in there. We plan on doing a SBS with the OBSO and OBSK and then going back and buying another bottle of whichever we like more (if they're still there).Davidson's? Also curious on the age and proof of the OBSQ, if you don't mind sharing.Great scores all around!Maybe... don't you live in IL?

Fpst
I see. Yeah, it was Davidsons. I was a little creeped out at first... thought I had a stalker. And is it worth it with all the shipping costs? I almost ordered some weller from TX, but paying an extra $9 a bottle didn't seem like the best use of my bourbon budget.
