GaryT
I just got the call today from my local ABC store in Durham - 20 bottles came in - Saz18, ER17, GTS, TH, and PHC. I went with the 2014 GTS - my first real 'find.' Got it for $80, opened it as soon as I got home. If this is what I can expect from GTS, I'd buy a bottle every time I have the chance
bicktrav
I'm hoping for a Saz18 or a GTS. I've still got quite a bit of last year's THH, WLL and ER 17. But I'll still grab them in a heartbeat if I get the chance.
The Good Sir
Picked up two bottles of WLW yesterday in the ATL area. Price has gone up. 95 each.
adub23
Does anyone know when the release happens in Pennsylvania? I know it is just online sales but wondering if they announce the time it will be available or if you just have to get lucky to be online when it does? jwacky
So who all 'won' the BevMo lottery? I replied to their initial email where you could check the bottles you were interested in about 20 minutes after I received. Found out yesterday that I got a THH. Of course, I was initially more excited because their site erroneously listed it as Thomas Handy Sazerac 18 Year with a pic of Saz18. I believe it was just an error since the link indicated that it was indeed the THH. Not that I don't want the THH, but the Saz 18 is the one I haven't tried yet. Guess we'll see what actually shows up.

Kpiz
Hey nice work! I have not heard anything back from them, so I can probably assume I'm SOL. I wasn't as quick to respond as you were, but I'm still not even sure whether it was a lottery or if the first responses got bottles.Hopefully a Saz 18 shows up. No shame in settling for a Handy though (as I've always said...)So who all 'won' the BevMo lottery? How long after you got your email did you reply?

Just reread the email and it says "if you reply before quantities run out..."Gmail is telling me I responded 19 minutes after the email came in, but I thought I was later than that. dframmy
I just got my email from Bevmo and got my 3rd choice. I had replied 9 minutes after receiving the email for what it's worth. You also have to pay shipping and no option for local pickup.

Just reread the email and it says "if you reply before quantities run out..."Gmail is telling me I responded 19 minutes after the email came in, but I thought I was later than that. You beat me. It'll be interesting to see if either of us get it. I feel like you've still got a decent shot. What's frustrating is that I got the email about two minutes after it came in and was opening it to read it when a business call came in. The call lasted over 20 mins. By the time it was over and I re-opened the email and realized what it was nearly thirty minutes had gone by. So annoying. That call could definitely have waited. I don't think responding to the email was time dependent. I responded to the BevMo email an hour after I received it and just got a follow up email saying that I got a bottle of GTS. Oh happy day.... HD 335
I responded about an hour later, and was hoping to get a WLW. Got an email for GTS so I'm quite happy. When I placed my order, their system still showed over 170 bottles of GTS.
Paul W
Replied to my email 27 mins after I got it. Really hoping I hear some good news today.Yeah, me too. I have not had a response yet one way or another. As I read the email, they will also respond to tell you if you did not get anything. I got my email on October 8 at about 1:30 pm and replied about two hours later.
dframmy
So funny, because I got Eagle Rare, which was my 3rd choice, and when I bought this a.m. (almost immediately after receiving) they had around 55 left. So definitely started with fewer ER bottles than Stagg, which is consistent with other parts of the country. I had Stagg #2 behind Saz 18 and figured I'd be likely to get the Stagg. bicktrav
Weird. It sounds like it may have been more of a lottery kind of thing.
Paul W
Seems like they could be doing it in tiers, like college admissions letters. People who spent the most at BevMo got the lottery email earlier. People who spent some but not much got the lottery email days later. Maybe BevMo wanted to see how many responses it would get from the biggest spenders before deciding to send the email to lower spenders. Then, some people have received replies saying "you get a bottle" while others have had no reply at all. Maybe BevMo wants to see how many responses (actual purchases) it gets to you the "you get a bottle" email before it decides whether and to what extent to send "you got a bottle" emails to the second tier.I expect at some point BevMo will send an email to the lottery losers saying "you don't get a bottle" but that will only come when it has actually sold all the bottles it has.So my question is, to those who received the "you get a bottle" email: how long does BevMo give you to actually buy the bottle before the opportunity is gone? I expect that time period will be helpful in shaping the expectations of those who have not heard yet.

jwacky
I three just received bad news from BevMo. Congrats to those who got a bottle. On the bright side, I found this less stressful than their system (or lack thereof) in past years.

TunnelTiger
I've gotten to the point that if one my two stops has a bottle and gets one that's great, if not it doesn't bother me
