Brought home a Beam BIB today. Good whiskey, with a particularly nice mouthfeel. Not complex, as it lacks the oakiness and other attributes that more barrel time would give. About what I would expect though, so I am pleased. Thinking this will be very nice from the fridge. It's going in there right beside my HHBIB 6 yr. My guess (hope) is that it will give me similar enjoyment.

Let me know what you think. It's made (finished) up the road from me, and I've never had it. I do like the Single Barrel very much..

I generally like the BT/Bowman bourbon profile but I did not find a striking improvement in the Vanilla Bean finish as compared to a good quality single barrel Bowman I compared it to which makes the higher price hard to justify. But you never know until you try for yourself. The 2 port finished versions I would buy again if I saw them. One to try was fine but would not seek out more even if I could. It was hard enough to find the one!

Glad to be back in the States. Couldn't help but peruse the Bourbon aisle after a month in exile. Decided on a RRSmBSB barrel pick from Binny's. Strange thing is, they had a one-bottle limit. I feel like Marty returning to the present to find things aren't quite the same anymore.

2 new bourbons I haven't had yet and a small batch rye on the recommendation of the clerk at a store I hadn't been to before while out travelling. They had a lot of stuff that is on my list to try eventually so I will definitely have to stop back in next time I am up that way but I need to finish off a few bottles as my meager whicskey shelf is at it's capacity. I only stopped there because they had the westland single malt but I had to pass on that at $80.

that's a really good price for a store select. I did the same and got an OESV 116 proof store select for $55 tho... and I'm definitely complaining! all the way down to the last drop of creamy goodness in that bottle.
