Glad to find a Weller 12 on the shelf and my first sighting of Ezra Brooks 12 yr. Looking forward to tasting both of these. Left the MMCS at 54.99 on the shelf.

I dont think Ive seen an EB12 in at least a year, come to think of it. I was unimpressed with it early in my bourbon journey and havent had it since, but if I see any in the future, Ill put one or two in the bunker for future use

MMCS finally appeared in Minnesota. I bought 2 750's ($59.99) and a 375ml ($30.99), cracked one of the 750's open, and I REALLY like this, at first whiff it smells like Maker's, but it's like the volume is turned up to 11. Better flavor and mouthfeel than regular Maker's or Maker's 46. With that said, I think I prefer ECBP or CEHTBP, but still am glad I bought a few bottles.

A lot of members really enjoy all the different brands of white dog and then again some just pour it down the drain.

finally caved and bought a JBBIB today

I just found one of these at a new store I tried. They had a nice variety so I will be going back again. On my way to grab some OGD114 now.

Traveled across the state today for a fishing trip. Hit 5 stores. Scored a EHTBP-129 and a Stagg Jr -3.

Let us know what you think, seems like opinions are quite varied on this one, I happen to enjoy it, but then again I like regular MM as well.

Best regards, Tony

I guess the Very Olde St. Nick bottlings are officially stateside, then. Let us know what you think of that.

Then today I stopped by the A Smith Bowman distillery and picked up their new annual release. They had just made it available in the gift shop. A cask strength, unfiltered, finished in a barrel that was filled with coffee at a local coffee producer. I forgot to take a picture of the bottle before packing in my suitcase, but I did take this one from their barrel aging warehouse.

I acquired what may be my as of yet all time favorite, a 4RGS OBSO 6/2013 bottling 108p. plums , raspberries, cherries, FANTASTIC!! I had one and nursed it for as long as I could but it eventually emptied, never though I would encounter another but as luck and the kind assistance of a fellow SB'r would have it, another is now in my possession. Every sip will be savored and enjoyed as much as that first bottle. I don't know if most OBSOs are this damn good but I sure hope they are in the ballpark.

I bought a Smooth Ambler Old Scout 9-Year Barrel Strength. The interesting thing about this barrel is that it was 98.6 proof at barrel strength. I have seen barrel strength bourbons in the low 100s but I don't recall any less than 100 proof. As with all Smooth Ambler products that I have tried (many), it is very good. It is a little different than the typical barrel strength offering in that it has sweetness to it and a little less spice. Andrew (amg) had mentioned this one in the forums before and I am glad I picked up one.

Not bourbon, but a Charbay S for $29. I couldn't make heads or tails of the R5, but for $29 I thought it was worth taking a chance. I have never had the any other release from Charbay.
