Bought this bottle once 3 years ago and today I paid the same exact amount that I did back then. Looking foward to having this again. Looks like Ill have to kill off a bottle first_ too many bottles open.

Well, I'll be.  Haven't seen that.  Thanks for correcting me.  Straight from HH, so it's the Word.

(Tip of my hat to you.)

Well this is a conundrum (sort of). Everyone here is used to the 1-12 batches. Do we retroactively call them all by their new designations? That might make a lot of heads hurt!

It isn't the Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked, but it costs a fifth of the price and this bourbon tasted great to me in a blind tasting at a bourbon party a few weeks ago.

OldFitz, I tried the JB DO at the distillery tour and it was pretty good.  Actually one of the ones I liked that had the JB label on it.  I was thinking of adding it to my stash but when I saw the WR DO on sale yesterday at Liquor Barn I decided to go ahead and get it.  I may add the JB at a later date.

You should enjoy it. It is a bottle that will grow on you the more you visit it and let it open up. Hope you enjoy it!

I wouldn't describe it as "bourbony", but it was damn good! I just thought I'd picked up citrus in a bourbon before, but this one is straight up musty orange.

Just because they want to use (what in my opinion) is an asinine labeling system doesn't mean that....

I mean, why the hell can't they just go with the year, then the batch?  You know, something simply clear and understandable.  With my limited cognitive ability, I'd even clearly understand  batch 2017-01, 02, etc.  :o

As for me, I'll just continue to call it ECBP (insert proof here)!;)

The naming seems pretty straightforward A = first batch of the year B is 2nd C is 3rd batch. First number represents the month last two numbers are the year. B515 is 2nd batch bottled May 2015.

Well, they plan to make up oddball names next year and jack up the MSRP by $40 per fifth

Picked up my 1st handle...EWB..whatever..it's my goto..lol

Also picked up an Old Ezra 7yr 101p..you know I don't like ezra brooks...at all

But this Old Ezra is really pretty darn good. I like it more than WT101..and it may be my fav <$23 pour.

Stopped by at out of state store while driving to grandmothers house and grabbed some Buffalo Trace, VOB 6 year and HH BIB white label. Nothing really expensive in the store that I couldn't get local, so was happy with those three. The BT was for my brother-in-law and I to split after moving furniture all day. The others are for me! The real fun part is the Beam decanters we found in the attic. Empty, but some are nice. Plus a bottle from the 40's or 50's that I'll post later tomorrow for some help. Good but bittersweet day.

Did a little shopping yesterday and brought these guys home.  This is the second place I've seen recently with a 9yr pick of KC since the age statement was dropped. Worth a shot at $29 I suppose.  Found the older EWSB in Muncie...several 2004 left on the shelves.

^^^Those are the Elijah Craig Barrel Selects that are a gift shop only item 125 proof and supposed to be 8 yrs old but I didn't notice the age statement.  They are 200ml bottles that everyone are calling "grenades"

Pretty good juice - very fruit forward with the proof coming in behind it.  I finished one off while I was there because my sister-in-law like the bottle and wanted the empty

Nice, wish they had those when I was there in November.

Me too - I was there in January and they didn't have them.  I have family who lives in B'town so they were able to get these for me and full disclosure some are for other Bourbonites who live around me

I picked up bottles of BT, RittBiB, and, out of curiosity, EWBiB. The EW is drinkable good but more of a mixer than a sipper to my taste buds.

Helluva haul! Nice find on the EC grenades. I've never tried Old Charter, but by the looks of your picture; that is something that I need to change.
