HoustonNit
Or this She's adorable. There are at least three of us on here with toddlers running around. I wonder if finding a newly found passion for nicer bourbon coincides with losing your ability to have much of a social life due to domestic responsibilities. Basically you're sitting at home your suddenly flush with cash you use to dump at restaurants and bars. Heck why not go out and get a nice bottle of whiskey to enjoy once you put to sleep the little monkey.

When my kids were toddlers (they are in their 20s now) I wish I'd have found myself flush with cash! I was working 2 jobs to afford diapers and formula instead of bourbon. Niner Outlaw
Picked up 1 bottle of ECBP Batch 13, 127 proof, A117. It was higher pricd at $64, but I took it. I left the other two on the shelf for karma. Went back to the same LS 2 weeks later and when the same 2 ECBPs were still there, I took them home with me. March has been a good month so far. Sometimes I call him Tarzan, or the one man wrecking crew. Seriously, he was off the chart for size at a year and a half, is very strong, and fast, and breaks things around the house. I find that when I can put him to bed; whatever bourbon I have will do.

It's amazing how much damage they can cause, I actually have a shirt for him that says one man wrecking crew. My kid was off the chart on height but average on height not sure where he got that from, uh oh...

It's the same exact cork you can buy at a hardware store for cheap. I laugh at their corks, which is a very different approach than the exquisite quality of the distillate held inside. Just goes to show you can't judge a book ...

I got into bourbon actually to save money right after my first son was born. I was drinking craft beer and felt like I was actually flushing my cash as opposed to being flush with cash. I bought a bottle of OF Sig and loved it. Bourbon became my drink of choice in colder month and beer for the warmer.

KC9 was my first bourbon. A friend and I bought a bottle when I was visiting him in Mobile, AL, about 15 years ago, based mostly on the fact that we liked the shape of the bottle. I still like it greatly and was sad to see it go NAS, though I did stock up on enough to last a while.

I have some confidence you won't be disappointed. I can honestly say that I've never had a clunker with KCSB. I tend to only buy store/private picks these days but even the "standard" single barrel at 120 proof has always been good. Other single barrel products from other distilleries do tend to disappoint me from time to time (their high side is quite superior though so always worth the risk if I can't try first). KCSB is just a steady eddy - rarely mind blowing, but never lacking.

Hop
Hit several "company stores" meaning VA and NC ABC today and was a little surprised by the 1.75 OWA in NC because it's only ever shown on the Special Order list but was told that they moved it to the regular list in the last month. Specifically went looking for the Joseph Magnus in VA but had to pick up a few Blanton 375's while I was there and since I was in and out of so many stores I felt obliged to buy something in most of them so some regular drinkers found their way along. Haven't had the 4R Yellow Label in a long time but I am really into some 4R Black Label export only that is just outstanding so I decided to pick this up as a substitute since I don't have a source in Japan for the Black Label Since Joe posted a picture inside of his garage with his new barrel I decided to go with a garage shot myself - maybe Harry will do a "truck shot" someday???
