Unfortunately my dad passed away on Tuesday night.  Finally got home last night from getting all the arrangements made with my brother & sister.  We decided to toast my dad's life so I poured my wife a glass of wine and myself some Blanton's and toasted one of the best men to ever walk the face of the earth.

Going to spend the night at my brothers tomorrow after the services so I'm planning on taking a couple of bottles so we can drink to his memory.

Really sorry for your loss went through this a few years back. It's good to have family there to talk, and not hold it inside. Enjoy a bottle your dad would've of liked and celebrate the life he lived with your brother.

I'm really sorry for your loss. I lost my dad unexpectedly a year ago, so I know what you're going through.

I haven't had a drop of alcohol in over a month. Tonight seemed like the night to put that to an end. This one was staring at me when I went to make my decision, so I couldn't resist.

^Welcome back on the wagon. I'm guessing I might know where you picked up that Michter's 10.

Very sorry for your families loss. Good to have siblings close at such times.

Guys, thanks for all the kind thoughts.  Next time you have a pour of your favorite stop for a second and toast the memory of those loved ones you've lost.  If you want to honor my father then pick up the phone or drive over to your mom and dad's house (if they're still with us) and tell them you love them.

Dad was 80 and he was most proud of his three kids, three grandchildren and 2 1/2 great grandchildren (my daughter is expecting our first grandchild in September).

Oddly enough it was one of the large chains. I'll PM you.

It's my brother's birthday, we are celebrating tonight, just offered him a bottle of Weller 12, he has courtesy to offer me pour. He tasted it last at home and found it pretty good, so I knew he was gonna be happy to have it.

Cheers!

Will

Killing some time before picking up dinner for the family.

Headed to my spot and broke out some Taylor Tornado.

Fantastic pour. Nice to have privileges at the local watering hole.

Sitting on the porch listening to a thunderstorm while enjoying some Knob Creek SB. There's something so relaxing about a thunderstorm. 3120afd56afe69a5f45faf2d1abd5e46.jpg

That's OK, Will - we knew what you meant.  BTW, English is not my native language either - too many rules and exceptions . . . :P

I went with HMK10 tonight. It's been a few months since I've had it. This one's especially good because it was only $24.

Stagg Jr with a bowl of Wilke Cherry Cavendish, the Stagg Jr is strong enough to cut through the aromatic tobacco.

Started with 1792 FP and added some EWSB 2004 SB for a spur of the moment blend. Quite enjoyable.

I had my first taste of this. Tastes like Tennessee to me, despite Kentucky on the label. Pecan is prominent.

OldFitzWiththeGoldLabel - Is that Bob Dylan circa 1965 in your avatar?  Who is the other guy?  He looks familiar.

ANYWAY, today I finished up my last few drops of HMcK 10YR BIB barrel 2498 neat and of a store pick 4R 11.5 year old OBSQ @ 123.6 proof with ice.

Nats may have found their Closer in Koda Glover.  If so, they only need one more consistent long reliever.  Well, lack of injuries would be nice.
