Excited to try this when I can pick it up from my brother who claimed it for me. ef995febcc000ec87ef3a25786d4134a.jpg

Found this on a clearance shelf (but you never get a clearance price here in Michigan). If I remember, the 2006 release was a bit of a lightening rod--when everyone was saying goodbye to 10-year-old bourbon inside. This one clocks in at over 9.5 years. Wonder now how this would compare to a 2009. Guess l'll have to find out...

Not really sure my in-laws ordered this, I'm in France. I need to ask them but I actually think this came from Spain per the a tax strip that says Spain. I opened up the Gold last night which was really good and surprisingly much better than the standard bottle. It has a 2015 bottle date, the SFTB has a 2014 date. I'm thinking them being a couple years old helps.

Ordered a FR "Al Young" LE Whiskey Magazine pick from Julio's for $69.99 - limit one per customer.  OBSQ SiB, #LE Barrel #53-1P, 10yr 1 mo, ABV 54.3%.  Back to the Cult!   ;)

Must be similar to the "Icons of Whiskey" release. Bayway got an OESK branded "Al Young" LE Whiskey Magazine pick.  Hope you enjoy it!

Picked up an EHT 4 Grain, EHT Barrel Proof, and a Knob Creek 25th Anniversary all for $220 out the door. Hell of a deal if you ask me

Woah! You pretty much robbed them then. Let us know what you think of the 4 grain.

At that price I would have likely done the same. I'm surprised the Taylors were around at all.

So I was just thinking...I wonder if we should expect to see from one of the Texas whiskey companies like Garrison Bros. or Balcones a "Hurricane Surviving" LE on the shelves about a year from now?

Considering neither is anywhere near the coast, "rain-surviving" might be more apt.  So, yea, we'll see a Hurricane Edition.

I realized I had been mainly drinking old favorites for the last six months or so and decided to pick up something I hadn't had before. Didn't feel like spending too much so I grabbed a Bowman small batch. First impressions: pretty good and surprisingly viscous for 90 proof.

Surprise random sale at a local resulted in a W12 & RHF this week.

Found an old 2014 double rye amongst newer bottles while at another store today (it has the old label that says blend of 16 yr. & 2 yr.).

The new label doesn't mention the 16 year component.

It's also bottle # 3333 which I think is kinda cool,

but, I'm easily amused.

I believe it is the same barrel  I should probably go get a replacement bottle before they run out.  I like this particular barrel better than any of the 3 Old Forester Whiskey Row bourbons.

I picked up one of these late this afternoon at True Spirits, along with a 1792FP single barrel select. They still had several of each on hand.

And they'll be released about the same time that eclipse bourbon gets released.

Picked up a stagg jr. And a hmk10 this week. Hmk10 is really turning into my daily drinker. Ironically I was really disappointed by my first bottle, but the next one got me hooked. Great caramel flavor with some nice spice mixed in. Great value bottle as well. If I were only allowed one bottle at the house (blasphemy I know) it would probably be hmk10.

Now that's a haul! Good stuff S. I'm guessing that your bunker wasn't bare, so it looks like you'll be even more well supplied for quite a while. :P Cheers and enjoy!

Sweet haul!  Do you know the ages on the KCSBs that you bought?  I got a bottle of the "Stripes" barrel from Cork N Barrel and that one is 13 years.  It's pretty fantastic juice.

Hah good point!  I didn't think of that one but you're right. That partial sunlight surely would have a special effect on the oak in the rickhouse, dontcha know.
