FRPS OESF 10 year 4 months. Got this bottle in the mail yesterday, its fantastic. This is the second bottle of FRPS that I've had, the other was an OBSK which was also fantastic. The OBSK was almost like a rye, while this is pure bourbon bliss. It reminds me of BT #1 mash, like Stagg Jr with a couple more years on it. Just great.

Working on a Charter 101 that i bought a few years ago, but only opened recently. Neat, with water back. Decent stuff. I am trying to work my stash down. Currently have 294 bottles, with about 85 open. Most are bourbon, with some rye, scotch and Dickel. Was over 300, but have decided to slow the buying impulse, and consume instead. The holiday time of year. Put out some Christmas decorations with the wife and youngest grandson, enjoying the season.

This is a very interesting barrel pick of Russell Reserve single barrel. Based on the bottle its an older pick. How this is still on the shelf amazes me. It's $2 to $12 cheaper than what I find in Houston, god bless western NY.

It taste and looks much older than the RRSB I've had recently, less spice which for me I like. Less caramel or sweet notes which I don't like but still good. How this sits on the shelf amazes me.

Having some PS ER10. Still not crazy about this barrel. Very un-ER.

 

I like ER but I also like odd unusual barrels of anything that's off profile. I mean unless the off profile means dirt or something.

Was at Down One Bourbon Bar last night after a U of L basketball game.  They have a seriously long and seriously overpriced bourbon list.  $90 for a pour of GTS, $40 for a pour of ETL.  Ended up having a pour of their PS KCSiB.

pretty sure I'm the only one who orders from this bottle. For $12 bucks for that size pour I'm okay with that :lol:

Its a complex bourbon. No question. I prefer Pappy 15 to this but Pappy is also 107 proof. The nose is great - mellow fruits with the underlying wood throughout. The leather and oak really come shining through on the back end for my palate.

 

For retail I would buy a bottle or two, however, I am not sure if it is worth what it goes for on secondary.

Have you tried the 23 year version? And if so how do the 2 compare?

If I'm reading you correctly, this is the first positive thing I've read on this board about Hudson. Maybe it's that EWSB that's making you run from the herd regarding New York's finest. :D

I had some friends share some goods pours with me today. 17 Stagg, 17 OFBB, Al Young, Joseph Magnus, some dusty pre-fire Heaven Hill juice, and then an OESQ. Good friends to have

Enjoying a solid pour of ECBP B517.  I picked up a second bottle today so I decided to open one and give it a try.  I added a splash of water and a few small cubes.  Must have watered it down a little too much so I topped spiked it up a little with another splash from the bottle.  It is all highly scientific and I am certain I can replicate this pour.  :huh:  I estimate that I am drinking it at around 110 proof.  As with all ECBP, I am enjoying it.  

 

I don't have any open bottles of older ECBP so I can't do a side-by-side comparison.  In general, I prefer it over A117.  I believe some of the older bottles might have been slightly better.  However, this one is stellar.
