Since I am behind the times, I thought I would post my "Winter Kill" as a whole. The adventure started with a Halloween Birthday of a bottle of Bulleit Frontier from my Son. It sent me researching & Indiana Jonesing into my own Bourbon Trail Adventure. I have no desire to spend secondary market prices, but don't mind paying adventurous prices. As you can see, there are several wounded soldiers here with one casualty... (CEHTSiB)

Prices on the Coast: Please let me know if I was ripped off!!!

CEHTSiB = $57

OFBB = $67

Michters 10 = $94

ER10 = $27

Bulleit 10 = $44

Woodford = $26 (I think)

Blanton's = $58

Store Selections:

Barrel Bourbon = $99

Jeffersons AAS = $74

EC12 that was actually an 11 = $31

Same prices around here, if available.

I think those are the honest LS folks. If they get it, they are fair. All stores here in Pensacola seem to be within $10 of each other, but no secondary pricing. Of course they do still have the lotteries for Pappy and such...

I haven't tried the regular 12 year expression, only the cask strength version. But yes I really enjoy it!

Is Lustau the one made in Sherry casks? I haven't ventured into that yet, but it sounds interesting. Like those done in rum casks.

Yes, finished in first-fill oloroso-sherry butts for a year.

I guess, maybe they are gonna release some older stuff in the future but I doubt it.

Enjoy!

My First Bunker Fodder...

I got my first Blanton's last Wed, and returned on Thurs and grabbed a Michter10. I have been really enjoying the Horsie Top which is 2/3 gone & I would sure like to keep this one around.

I made a pass at lunchtime & the Blanton's was replenished so.....

So those little voices telling me to turn right instead of left to go home struck again - stopped in the LS to see if anything new was on the shelf, and opted instead to finally take home a Beam product I'd been eyeballing for several weeks but couldn't google up any info on (because I was googling the wrong name....)

So it appears I've scored my first mildly dusty!   Dates back to @ 2008 release I think?   Actually picked up two of them for $20 per.   Thought there were a few more but they turned out to be JB Vanilla...

That's a cool one, certainly would have grabbed that myself if I came across it!

This is interesting is the proof 90? It’s hard to tell.

Yes, 90 proof.

So I've got a question:  Was this actually a series of releases/variations ala the Old Forester Whiskey Row series, or just a one-off limited offering?   I don't see anything on these 2 bottles that intimate a series or variation #, but I have seen pics of a few bottles (apparently Austrailian exports) featuring a different MD on the front and referred to as #1, #4, etc.
