The wood is strong with this one… but interesting with some air time.

Been a little while since I've poured this.

It's pretty darn good.

And..... Gotta use the "right glass" of course.

:)

i just made a real observation that buffalo trace entry level 40% is shit and im so glad i never paid for it
Still disappointing aftrr reading so many people say it was a nice dram

It reminds me to never buy a bourbon lower than 50% for sure

I've had stellar luck with bottles from store selected barrels. Some good BT is out there sometimes. For me atleast.

The bottle fill and glass do not appear to be in equilibrium.  You are going to have to have another pour to balance things out!

I’ll take care of it, no problem. Cheers!

Great choice! I remember really enjoying that one. I'll need to pick some up. Noticed that my favorites store just got some in.

2014 GTS is my all time favorite pour, ever!

Do you ever drink anything besides BTAC? :P

Opened a recently purchased bottle of WTKS.  While this bottle is a standard release, it was actually on closeout and discounted for multiple bottle purchase at Kroger, it is one of the better WTKS I have had in a long time.  I am glad I bought two!   Leather, tobacco, mild oak and cherry on the nose.  Spice, black pepper, mild oak and cherry on the palate.  Nice long spice, black pepper and cherry finish that continues build.

This is one of those bottles that checks off a lot of boxes in the "like" categories.  If the second pour is like the first, I will have to see if Kroger has more of this barrel floating around at other stores.

Old bottle OWA after a brutal drive back to MetroWest Boston from Danbury, CT on I-84.  May just finish the bottle tonite instead of making dinner!

Back to the CEHT Small Batch for this Easter Fools evening.  Always a favorite pour for me.

Currently having a short tipple of Door County Distillery's Salt Malt Whisky.

NAS whisky distilled in Wisconsin according to the label. Notes of pine wood sawdust and sweet corn. 80 proof. Not bad actually although I think with a good age statement and a bump up to 94-100 proof and I would be more interested in this product. This 375mL was a gift from the ladies brother. Quote a thoughtful dude, he previously got me bourbon coffee beans which are quite nasty, but also very thoughtful.

I think I see a tear in Elmer's eye as he looks at that bottle.

I love this bourbon, 7 year 101 proof mystery bourbons have been some of my favorites over the years, this one will be missed when it is gone.

Would this be comparable at all to Old Ezra7?

OE is certainly earthier, this is more straight down the middle profile wise with baking spices I love them both, probably like the Old Williamsburg better, but that was the onus for the comment along with Virgin Bourbon. If you ever come across this one make sure you flip the bottle around they bottled (maybe still do) a 3 year old bourbon more recently.

Will do. Also looked for Virgin in Kentucky but struck out. Seems like it's available in Alabama and Georgia areas.

So on my recent Kentucky trip I only found heaven hill bottled in bond at liquor barn in Louisville. So I picked up some green label. Still six years old at 90 proof. A nice pour. Very mellow, no water needed. 11.99. Bliss.

I believe the bottle I had was from a trip to NC.

Nothing. Passover. Although had a nice pour of VWFRR (D-bottling) before started on Friday evening. Beautiful pour.

I'm not surprised, this is a wonderful pour. Had some 2017 right after this, both are excellent. I'm drinking plenty of other stuff, but i'm a little obsess with the BTAC, specially the Stagg :D

Cheers!

Will.
