I am glad to see you mention the fair. It adds to the game in a way, that nothing could replace the venue.

That looks mighty good. I love a few pours while working the grill but mine gets progressively worse with pours. Now I only drink/cook together when we don’t have guests.

I haven’t bought a bottle of JJ Bowman SB in at least a year and a half. A local store got a new shipment in and it looked darker then usual, so I bought one. 

A good buy.....

If you can’t find a store pick of BT, buy this. Yes it’s more expensive, but very good.

Grabbed for some OWA after work and it hit the right spot. Realized I had no W12 open so I had to correct that.

Opened a bottle of ECSB tonight. It is a 12yr store select that is really good. This is my second bottle and I have more bunkered in the basement with an itch to get more. After I polish off this bottle, which shouldn't take long, I am thinking about opening one of my 14yr old ECSB in the bunker. If I do, I will make sure to have pics of that one! It is one of my all time EC favorites! Cheers everyone.

Opened a VOB 90 proof tonight. The wife mistakenly picked up a couple of these instead of the BIB. I don't notice much of a difference.

Opened an RR SiB store pick. its fantastic. bubble gum, vanilla, taffy, cayenne rather than black pepper, cream soda. Real glad I got 2

Just curious, why do you keep an upside down 4R bottle in your bar? :)

Last evening, opened up two nice ones.  A RR store pick (Rickhouse B, 5th Floor), and the new Old Forester 1910.

 

The RR was, as would be expected, excellent.  Just can’t go wrong with a Rickhouse B store pick.  I am sure this will open up nicely.

 

The OF 1910 was very good IMHO.  You could taste the underlying Old Forester profile, but that profile was complemented and masked nicely with a nice charred sweetness imparted by the second barrel.  Good stuff and a nice change of pace, and a nice addition to the Whisky Row series.  If you want in-your-face OF, there is always the 1920, which I enjoy quite a bit as well.

Tonight I opened this Booker's 2017-04 Sip a while. So far Booker's is my favorite bourbon.

As I was opening it, the cork started to break. I was able to save it and extract the cork without a full break.

For anyone who wants to know - an Eagle Rare 10yr cork works just fine as a substitute for EHT bottles.l
