0895
Fallen Goldier. These bottles never last long once opened, and this one from 2016 is just beautiful! Hate to see it go, but happy to add the “L” horse to my gold horse collection. Just 3 bottles to go until it’s complete and I can silence one of the OCD voices in my head...

My honey hole sells this for $39.99 + tax so it will be replaced.. Every time I go to the liqour store I’ve been looking for this but feel like I haven’t seen it on the shelf once this year. It’s crazy that Pikesville is now a ghost bottle.

parksmart
Somewhat dusty from 1999. Hoping this was an off bottle, b/c it wasn’t as good as prior OC from that era that I’ve had. Then again, with a 3 year age statement, it’s not a huge bar that was set prior.....
fishnbowljoe
Heres a couple from the past week or so. I also finished off a Weller SR that's not pictured. I refilled it from a Weller SR handle that I needed. Also not pictured is an old bottle/label OWA. FWIW, I made another batch of my blend using all older bottles/labels. Biba! elmossle
No picture, but finished off a bottle of KCSB from Redstone Liquors today. While it wasn't but a touch over 9 years old and not amazing, it did have a very nice cherry note that kept making me want to revisit time and time again. Sadly, no more visits available.
LCWoody
Two more down. The BD 10y has a story behind it. Awhile back a local liquor store had them for $19.99. They are normally around $60 here. Manager said they were offered a special price on them so they bought 5 cases. Later that week he said it was missed priced from the distributor. The price jumped up to $49.99. I had already bought 4 bottles. Didn’t think it could be that bad for a 10y and it’s pretty good.

0895
So yesterday I had a root canal done, so it’s no surprise I’ve been drinking a bit harder to ease the residual pain. Finished another one tonight.... a SB of BT. Yum!
smokinjoe
This one went way too fast. Many of the 1792 BIB and Single Barrel selections from Barton have been really fantastic for me.

dad-proof
Finally polished off a couple, and with my stash still boxed up during renovation, I hope to have a couple of backups soon to post to the "buy" thread.

Kepler
This one didn't last very long. I actually killed it over a week ago but just getting around to throwing it away. Next man up in the freezer will be 4RYL! Edited August 16, 2020 by Kepler
0895
Nothing lasts forever, so they say... I’ve been making this 2014 THH (129.2p) last a long time. I think it is literally my favorite bottle of rye ever. It was also my first THH. Local lottery in 2015 had this one leftover from the prior year for whatever reason, so I got to choose between’14 or ‘15. Never regretted my decision, and I eventually found a ‘15 (see my birthday post for more info). Anyway, this bottle is just everything that great rye should be for me. Rich and fragrant, with smells and tastes of leather wrapped in a floral bouquet. Musty and spicy at first, but with a kiss of sweet at the end. No burn going down, but rather the heat lingers in your mouth and on your lips, making them tingle slightly. I’ve been gassing it over the years with private preserve to preserve the flavor, and have noticed no degradation. Gone, but never forgotten, this bottle will always be the bar for which THH is measured against for me.

While certainly not a readily available rye, THH is my Gold Standard rye produced today.
