Well one of the boys at work messed up and got a “Fine”. That’s when you do something stupid and owe beer or a bottle. Well he brought this in today and all the fellas complained it wasn’t their “Jameson or Jack”. So, I immediately chimmed in and offered to replace it with their request.

 

Dont mind the solo cup. Helping a new neighbor move in and pouring a glass.

It's a stretch but I LOVE that you thought it through and have a rationale for it.

That's a pretty big pour!  I guess you gotta do what you gotta do when a bottle is just begging to be finished.  I have the same rocks glass.  It is my glass of choice.   I have had some stellar ECPS.

I spent the past 2 weeks away from SB as my mother and father, both 65, tested corona positive. No surprises there as they are medical doctors. I was mostly panicking and being totally useless mind you, but they both ended up breezing through the situation with a mild cough. It was a bit anticlimactic, but all for the better They live outside the US where Jack and Jim Beam are the norm, so I just smuggled them their favorites as congratulations: Blanton's for mom and Booker's for dad. I'm enjoying a Baker's myself.

We had the grandson all day Saturday and until late Sunday morning.  Stopped by a friends house, who is a bigger bourbon geek than I am and he said he had found two bottles of something and got me one.  It was this,

We tried it Sunday night and the responses were by me "Tastes like hard candy", my son, "Tastes kind of medicinal" and my wife, "Would make a good mixer with Tylenol".  Maybe I'll take it to a tailgate and pour it for unsuspecting consumers.  Needless to say, we were not impressed.

I have a bottle of hochstadlers rock/rye, very orange forward near but actually tasty over ice on a hot day

doing a sbs of OF 100pf vs OF 1920 at the moment. I took the last bit of each and mixed together. The blend mellowed the finish of the 1920 some while still providing the front of the palate punch that the 100pf has. For the price difference I am leaning towards staying with the standard 100pf in the future.

As I read your WT101 post my first thought that every time I am loving my 101 I go right up the ladder and finish with Rare Breed.  Those are good drinking nights.

 

RRSiB now for me and its pretty tasty.   Will probably end this bottle tonight.

I bought this some months ago at K&L.  It was the only time I'd ever seen it available where I live so I jumped on it. I have to say, it lives up to its name.  Very sweet on the nose and the palate.  Kind of one dimensional, however, so I probably won't buy it again.  Guess I could say that about most of the 1792 products that I've tried (most... I've only tried Full Proof and Single Barrel).

Second pour of the night.  This bottle cost the same as the Sweet Wheat ($40) but is an order of magnitude better.  This smells and tastes like a premium whiskey...

CEHT is one of my favorites.  I haven't seen it on the shelf in Indy for quite some time.  I have an open bottle of CEHT BP that I love.  I gotta make it last.  I love the hint of cherry in the profile.  It is a step above ER.

Interesting.  I haven't had OF100 in a while.  Is this Signature?  I really like the OF profile.

I don't believe I have ever had a pour of Knob Creek that doesn't hit some part of my bourbon sweet spot.  Some of my favorites have been store picks.  100 proof or 120 proof?
