(I saw the word, "Huzzah!", in a book someplace about 4th grade.  Always wondered, and still do, if anybody actually yelled that.)

Yeah, we yelled "Huzzah!" back in our Civil War days, Harry!  Don't you remember????

I recall that term from the Deadwood tv show on HBO, amid all the profanity. ?

I stopped at one of the local grocery stores over the weekend to grab a gift card and had to check the bourbon section as well, and to my surprise they had MM cask strength for just under $37. I couldn't resist and had to grab one at that price.

Ok so it's that kind of hot. I have noticed quite a few posts about this. Figure I'll give it a try. Whiskey is a vegetable right?

Knowledge is knowing a tomato us a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad. I hope to learn from the wisdom provided here. Should be good and cold by tomorrow.

This I do know, bourbon in the freezer or fridge in the summer is delicious.

But rye, corn and barley are all cereal grains. Unless you’re referring to the brussel sprouts. I wouldn’t recommend that cocktail.

I succumbed to temptation once again. Big surprise huh? I couldn’t help but stop and buy a third ps Old Forester Single Barrel. I finished one, but still had one in the bunker. As I stated before, this is a really good one. I just wanna make sure I have a back up as long as possible.

I bought a ps BT handle from this store a couple of  years ago, and it was great too. The problem was, I had a BT open, and it was a while before I finally opened it and found out just how good it was. When I went back to buy another, they were sold out. Lesson learned.  -_-

That's always a problem with single barrels and private selections, especially if you are like me and like to thin the herd.  I try to keep only a handful of bottles open at a time.  However, I did open two single barrels of the same brand and will probably open the third to see which to buy backups of.

Finally had a chance to get out to my local LS for a freezer bottle, and was greeted by an empty spot on the shelf where 4RYL should be. My guy there said they've been out a few weeks, maybe some would come in Friday, but the distributor wasn't sure. Settled for a "2012" bottle of EWSiB.

May the bourbon Gods forgive me, for I have sinned. I lied. ? I actually had two in the bunker. Now, I still have two in the bunker, but I also have one open.  ?

This showed up at a local grocery store.

Not sure why or how.  Nor do I care.

$40 OTD.

Raining this morning so, no project work (everything was outside).  Decided to run around and check a few stores.  Not really looking for anything, just haven’t been buying much in the past month or so.  As you can see, it was a good day and the bourbon gods smiled on me.

I'm a bit jealous of the Bardstown (and the Turkey of course). I'd love to try one but they aren't available in MA.

Finally got around today to picking up a number of purchases made during this pandemic/shelter in place.  Will post as I pop open and pour them.

None of the VOB offerings are readily available here in the SF Bay Area.  Was able to snag a few of the 90 proof at a fair price.  Enjoying a couple snorts worth right now.  Decent nose, nice on the palate, but pretty short finish.  For a few bucks less than $20 OTD per bottle, it’s a fine QPR pour!

For those who have done so, how would this be as a freezer bottle?  TIA......

I reluctantly accompanied my wife to Costco this afternoon.  Glad I did because I grabbed their last bottle of Angel's Envy port finished for $40.

After a long hiatus taste buds are well-rested, I’m back in the bourbon game with essentials. This is my entire bourbon collection:)

Nothing super special (the WTMK are just the background here). But happy to find the WTRB RYE!
