bayouredd
Mowed the grass today and continue mowing for my neighbor. She is an 80 year old widow that has been a wonderful neighbor for over 35 years. Since I have an electric mower, I hoped she wouldn't hear me. She obviously did because 2 hours later, she showed up with possibly the the best pan of legal brownies that I have ever tasted... I looked for a bourbon with a chocolate note to indulge and ended with a LS WR double oak. If you take a bite and wait 15 seconds or so for a sip, it's a beautiful combo...

Wedelstaedt
Opened up with a minor pour of 1792 SmB PS, from a few years back. Nice flavor, but a bit thin. Enjoyable enough. Cheers

I don't even know if I can muscle through it. I need a bottle of Eagle Rare to blend it with. I don't know which batch I got. I bought the first one I saw. It tasted like Charter 101 mixed with Everclear. I'm one and done. It makes shopping easier. I'm of the opinion that a $50+ bottle from a legacy distiller should always be good on its' own. Come on, don't those people have quality control, as in tasting samples of what they're bottling. Send the barrels that aren't so good to a huge batch for the bottom shelf brands.

There are some good released out there. #3 and #9 are fantastic. There's a thread, somewhere on the board, where you can identify the release by the alcohol content. kwshannon
Picked up and opened a Cedar Ridge private selection finished in port cask. Lots of dark cherry flavor in this one.

fishnbowljoe
I did a little more cleaning and rearranging of my cabinet today. I couldn't help myself, and did a little blending too. Since I made some room, I decided to open a bottle. I'm gonna give Larceny one more try. Biba! Joe
StarSurfer55
So I just saw that the US and U.K. agreed to drop the 25% tariff on whiskey. Supposedly this has been in the works since December. on an all together different topic, I have begun to notice that a poorly done wheater ( smooth ambler big level, I’m looking at you) will have a strong musty corn note while a well done one such as Weller does not. Is this just me or is this a common finding? I would appreciate those more experienced providing their comments.

PaulO
I opened a fresh bottle of VOB 100. I always say to myself, I need to bunker more of these. If they're around, they don't stay in the bunker - end up open and in the cabinet.

fishnbowljoe
Another busy day at work. I got home and decided to try a pour of my recent MM Blend. Wow, what a surprise. The combination of MM and MMCS in this one is remarkable. The two compliment each other in a really good way. There is a viscosity that isn’t present in either by themselves. Rich, flavorful and kinda thick and “gooey”. So, after I finished my MM Blend, I decided to have a pour of my 2021 Weller Blend just ‘cause. The edge goes to my Weller Blend, but not by much. My Weller Blend doesn’t have the thickness and viscosity of the MM Blend, but it does has a more well rounded, deeper, full flavor. Win! Win! Biba! bayouredd
Monday Oak Day!!! Started with an EC 18 that had a surprising bubble gum note that wasn't there when opened at Christmas. On to a KC 12 that just kicked it's a$$ even though the bubble gum is a sought out taste for me. KC 12 wins the 2nd & 3rd pour. Monday may be a bad day for most, but Monday evening is a rip!!! But seriously, I’ll try to not over indulge on my blends. Believe me, I have enough other stuff to keep me occupied. Biba! Joe
