Heaven Hill 7 year BIB -- 1stp -- very sweet. Reminds me of the OFBB of late 90's.

This was surprisingly good last night.  It's a Willett product.  90 proof, NAS.  I enjoyed it much more than the pour that preceded it - RR10yr.  Of course, Eagle Rare bested them both...

The crazy winter storm put me in the mood for something different.  I pulled Benchmark Full Proof out of the bunker.  The extra proof makes it a bit more interesting, compared to standard BT (same mash bill).  It seems to be a decent pour for being not very old.  A little ice helps too.

Shoveled my driveway.i needed to warm my belly, so now I'm enjoying the best KC Sib I've had. This is a big caramel bomb that's lacking much of the Beam peanut. I absolutely love this barrel.

As I call it my golf bag bourbon.  Perfectly good bourbon, easy sipping no fuss.  Perfect golf bag flask, for a swig after the first 9 and after a round.  Also retails for like $35.  Only problem with that plan is I get like one bottle a year at that price, oh well.

first pour in celebration of having electricity restored after it being out since early Monday morning.  Yay Houston.

I double checked, and 2 oz. is right about there at the fattest part of the bulb. That's my 1 pour a night level versus sissy pours if doing a SBS or multiple. 🙂

my used to be fav was cognac glasses at 1.5 oz full, before I recently transitioned to Glencairn so I'm getting used to these as regular glass.  However, I'll do half dozen sips, usually more.  Makes me think mbroo5880i has right idea, skip the glass.

HH90 (just secured another case) and some Crown 16yr Rye. Funny the $14 bottle wins.

darn that 16yr rye seemed like a steal these days.  Thanks for saving me money.

Neighbor lady’s move was on hold due to weather.  Not much changed on the weather front so, snow and ice it is.  I did what I could with the snowblower.  One more day should do it.  She closes on the old place on Monday so not much choice.

I am definitely too old for this much manual labor.  My shoulders are killing me.

A medicinal pour of BBC Discovery, series #2 tonight.  Maybe two.

This stuff is really good.  I love the EW profile, very well balanced, all the stuff I like in the right dose. I know it’s only 86 proof but this needs more love around.

Agreed.  I had a couple of bottles over the last 6 or so months, and found it very nice.  Tremendous balance as you say.  Very underrated, particularly for its price.

A year since I’ve tried this. It’s better then I remember, but strangely the nose was lacking. Astringent, grassy, light caramel. Still very sweet.

I’ll still seek out every batch of ECBP and a second most times if I can. This is one I can see replacing whenever gone, but not caring what batches I miss in between.

Watching the NatGeo show on the new Mars rover - Perseverance - which landed a few hours ago.  Decided to celebrate its arrival by finishing off something special.  Some SBers gifted me 200 ml of OGD 86 circa 1980.  It is like sipping on/sucking on classic Turkish toffee.  My tongue just slides around inside my mouth as though I was working on, uh, a mocha chocolate truffle.

I am as amazed by the complexity of the Old School 86 OGD as I am by putting Perseverance ON MARS!!  Well, maybe the Mars part is more amazing, but still . . .😉

Having the last pour from Mrs. Clueby's Stagg Jr. Batch 14 tonight. I didn't love this batch but this final pour finally offered up a more familiar SJR experience and moved up a notch. Still leaned more toward oak and heat instead of brown sugar/molasses and cherry coke but some of those notes finally came thru.

Happy to end my work week tonight with a nice pour of SH14y.

Very similar to 1792 twelve year with better availability makes it a no brainer for me.  Lots of cherry and oak flavors.

Quite enjoyable.

Continuing with the Old Fo BPSiB blind tastings. Last week saw the first 16 tasted. This week is the second 16 and so far I've tasted 8.

So that makes 24 so far. Here's what I know. OF1920 is one of the best OF products to come out in a long time. It's in fact a favorite across all of the brands.

Here's what I also know. When you get a great OF BPSiB barrel it outpaces the 1920 by a good margin. That's how good they can be.
