FWIW, a long time coworker sent me a congratulatory text that I received at 6:00 yesterday morning as I was relaxing before heading to work. Coincidentally, he included the same picture. Love it! G L Tirebiter
Back from mowing my aunts lawn, had a little pizza. Then finished a splash of regular Four Roses and now its time to open the Bookers I bought a couple weeks back.

It’s just that I already have two “N” toppers. In 2019, I made two trips to BT two or three weeks apart. I’m guessing at least two might be from the bottles I picked up at the distillery from back then. Of course when I grabbed this one from my bunker, I forgot to check the top until just after I had pulled the wax ring off. I had to chuckle a bit. I laughed even more when I checked my lone remaining bottle and saw that it was a “B”. Biba! Joe

I celebrated the blessed event (ok - I hadn't logged on in a few days, so maybe this was a coincidence?) with a bottle kill pour of a 2014 ORVW 10yr. And - no disrespect to my wheater-loving brethren - followed that up with a (now dusty?) Baker's . . . and I'm not sure which I liked better? Guess that says more about my preference for rye than the quality of either of those (no - I won't trade any ORVW 10yrs for a Bakers) IMHO - both are well made, high quality bourbons. And if anyone sneers at the older Baker's - please PM me for help with appropriate disposal

Jazzhead
No wheaters in sight here. Enjoying in a Getzian way some barrel strength MGP rye thoughtfully presented "as is" by the folks at Templeton. Talk about a contrast in styles - Gets employs the art of seduction, the Templeton's a cave man with a club.
bayouredd
To start, a short pour of PH 10 Heavy Char; not to celebrate, but toast peace, strength & a quick recovery to the great folks suffering from Ida's wrath... Now switching to OF Friday & toasting with a a special pour of OF SiB to ye ol' Fishbowl Joe, wishing a long & healthy retirement... Just remember to bath once in a while..
CPBourbon
First pour of the long weekend is an easy drinking MM101 along with an easy smoking Pedormo 10th Anniversary. The first of many pours for the weekend and likely a few smokes.

WhiskeyBlender
Decided to start the long weekend early and pull out an Old Fitzgerald 15 year in honor of @fishnbowljoe and his retirement. I don't know how it compares to Joe's 1980 BIB pour, which sounds like high proof nectar from the heavens, but it sure is pretty danged tasty nonetheless! Hope you're enjoying your first week of work freedom, Joe! Here's toasting to you! Cheers, Nancy

mbroo5880i
I know I am a little late to the party but I made it! @fishnbowljoe Congratulations on your retirement! I hope you and your wife enjoy a long and healthy retirement and get to do all the things you have wanted to do but didn't have the time because work got in the way. Work is but one part of our life. I remember my grandfather's retirement. He had a long retirement and enjoyed every minute of it. Fishing, tinkering, drinking, hanging out with family. I enjoy my work but I look forward to the day when my only decisions are what to eat, what to drink, and what to do with the grandkids and I don't even have grandkids, yet! I already have had a few pours of OF100 but, in your honor, I salute you with a pour of WLW which will be followed by a pour of WL12. May the next chapter in your life be the best! Cheers, my friend!
