LCWoody
It’s my wife and eyes 28th anniversary today. We came to Florida so she could sit on the beach for the next three days, so tonight I’m sipping on a great bottle of Eagle rare listening to the waves hit the beach. I am listening to some great old country music by Waylon, George, and Willie… and merle haggard. And Chris Stapleton and Jamie Johnson and Cody Jinks and Elvis Presley, and Chris Kristofferson and Ray Charles…… and others…… can’t forget Billy Joe Shaver. Many well wishers congratulating me on my retirement tomorrow. A couple of long time coworkers even gave me a card and a present! I got home from work and my wonderful wife had a pour of BT all ready for me on the back patio. It was good, but…. I decided to start celebrating a little early, and opened my 1980 Old Fitz BIB. Wow! Even better than I remember. Thick, viscous and “chewy” with that old time caramel/ butterscotch flavor that glut era bourbons are known for. The finish is “mahhhhvelous”. Absolutely wonderful pour(s). To (mis)quote a line from Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade, “I chose wisely.” Biba! Joe Congratulations Joe! I’m on the road so I have limited access to nice wheaters but am toasting you anyway. You deserve this new time in your life. Cheers!
fosmith
This is pretty good but I don't reach for this bottle very often. I've had it open for two years and probably won't replace it when it's gone. I guess that says it all..

G L Tirebiter
Wish I had some Weller to toast Joe's new life. I guess the new Bookers will have to do. Make sure you add your own tasks to the "things to do list" 1. Spin some vinyl 2 Do some yard work 3 Visit friends 4 Share some bourbon (Just a couple ideas. My list is lo-o-o-ng.....) And spinning some Green on Red " The Killer inside Me".... Edited September 5, 2021 by G L Tirebiter

CPBourbon
This will be the first four pours of the day. Turkey day!! Up the ladder…this is also the order of my preference of pours, normally at least. Of course, depends on the barrel of KS and Russell’s. I haven’t tried this store pick yet, so we shall see. After those four…well…all bets are off! PS…yes, I know it’s very early. Haven’t cracked yet but I did get the smoker going so it may not be long!!

dad-proof
Got into the CEHTBP and MGP after the UGA win last night. The 2018 has an interesting, subtle licorice note when water is added. At least it did last night after a few Marzen lagers. Pouring some WSR in a bit as I prep for tomahawk ribeye and picanha on the grill.

fishnbowljoe
Lazy Labor Day. Been chillin’ on the back patio with some light snacks while listening to the Cubs game. The Cubs just won 4-3, and I poured a wee bit of BT to celebrate. The Cubs are on a seven game winning streak. Unfortunately, too little too late. I just hope they win next Sunday when we visit “The Friendly Confines”. Biba! Joe
