Just purchased and popped a ECBP C 923. Been searching for it. My LS shot me a text he got ONE in. He stashed it aside for me. 13 years 7 months in the barrel!!  133 proof!!!  Flavors are amazing and drinks below the ABV. Going to do a SBS with my absolute  favorite ECBP C922 . We will see if this one becomes the new king.

I have been looking.  Plenty of younger store picks for more $$.  So, I have a fall back option.  However, one local retailer has ECBP C923.  I just need to hit the right employee at the right time for them to understand what I am asking about.  One employee said "oh yeah, we got it."  He then showed me a couple dozen bottles of EC NAS 94 proof.  I will say the price was right, $27.99.  But, the age and proof were wrong.

I am drinking KC9 while watching football.  No wait, baseball.  Oops, my mistake, basketball.  Sorry, it is actually a new Hallmark Christmas movie.  Yes, today is October 27.  Fortunately, the actresses are hot and I have plenty of bourbon to help me understand the plot.

Still working down the bunker.  Moved a cruise box (i.e., a wooden box built by the US Navy to hold crap US Naval persons buy overseas to bring home onboard ship - lots of heavy wood, brass straps, and giant screws so the crap doesn't get stolen during the voyage) containing family crap from my parents who are long gone.  Found a stash I'd forgotten about.  It's becoming a race:  will I die of cirrhosis before something else gets me?????

ANYWAY, tonight it was hefty pours of  OGD 114 diluted with ice cubes which were allowed to melt before I sipped.  Drinking tea while awaiting the melting so I'll be a wide awake drunk for sure.  Astros @ Texas on the PC.  Life can't get much better even if Atlanta is not in the hunt.

EDIT!!!!  Uh, Astros aren't playing.  D'backs are.  I got confused by the uniform colors.  HONEST!

Easy mistake.  Everyone is just so used to seeing the Houston Astros in the world series, it just seems like second nature. Carry on.  😁 🌠

Been drinking a lot of KC12 lately. Every time it comes available in the market I buy around 6 of them because I keep waiting for it to become allocated. So far it hasn't so I have a lot. I'll keep it up just in case.

Revisited my bottle of Lucy Seven Holiday Toast last night.  Yum.

My wife has been decimating out Peerless rye finished in Absinthe Barrels.

That bottle is a different cat. I like it. I also drink it last. The flavor, like the Amburana stuff, is so strong as to alter the palate. Peerless's newer 6y bottles are much better than their prior offerings IMHO.

Started with a nice pour of WT101 while dining out tonight with my family.  My oldest son is getting married next Friday so this was our last downwind before a busy week.

Now at home and following up with a couple of solid pours of KC9.

I heard a Halloween-related voice on the radio on the way home and thought about @fishnbowljoe, @PaulO, @VWIndyand other Indy area SBers.  The Halloween-related voice was the one, the only, Sammy Terry.

This dude scared the shit out me when I was little.  My older brothers and sister always made sure I was in the room when Nightmare Theater came on.  Those old movies they showed were crazy scary for a little kid.  But, when Sammy started laughing, I was scared shitless.

For those of you who don't care about Indy ...ish, but are of age to remember the Marsha-Jan dilemma.  If you preferred Alice, then you might have had other issues at that time. 😜  Me, I had no preference.  At that time, given my age,  I would have been ok with either whether they had shown an interest or not.  😎

My guess is Alice enjoyed whatever meat Sam the Butcher gave her.  😜

Obviously, Mike Brady enjoyed meat to0.  Sorry.  😜  No offense to any individual, community, or corporation intended. 😀

What does this have to do with bourbon? I bet Greg drank a quick swig when he picked up Mrs. Brady in the limosine for a date.  Liquid courage.

Watching the Badgers keep it unexpectedly close against Ohio State with some well-seasoned cherry limbs blazing away in the hearth.  Cherry calls for Buffalo Trace.  If I had a banana tree to trim, I could repeat the exercise next year with some OF 1920.  Maybe not.  Hey, anyway, if you like college football and you get regular NBC on your set, check this one out.  Or check out some Buffalo Trace. Either way, you won't be disappointed.

I was just talking about Sammy Terry with some folks at the Legion. Someone in a blog posted a picture of a praying mantis with a fly in its claws titled “The Fly Says Help Me!!!”. One thing lead to another. We got to talking about scary movies with insects. “Them”, “The Deadly Mantis”, “Tarantuala” and of course “The Fly”. We currently have a guy here on tv named Svengoolie that shows scary movies on one of the local channels. I brought up Sammy Terry. Watched Nightmare Theater  many a time with my older step siblings. They always tried to scare me.

Yeah, I used to watch Sammy Terry every weekend.  A good friend in my neighborhood liked it too.  Sometimes I'd watch at his house.  I remember a lot of those British Hammer films (Christopher Lee & Peter Cushing and others) in color with lots of fake blood.  Then there were the Japanese movies.  Of course we had the classic American horror movies and 1950s sci fi.

Recently waiting for my son in the dentist office.  I read an article in Indianapolis magazine.  It has the history of Sammy Terry.  Bob Carter passed away a number of years ago.  When his health started to go, he got his son to take over the role.

I had my first go with Amburana wood finished bourbon several weeks ago.  It was a store pick of a local distilleries release.  It did not suit my palate, and I’ve not visited it since.  The nose was a mixture of Play-Doh and some weird unidentifiable spice that you might only find in a spice market in Zanzibar or Marrakesh.  The taste was red hot raw cinnamon with a wet wool blanket undertone.  I’ve never had Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, and pretty sure I wouldn’t like it if this is how it tastes.  I think I’ll run from any beer or whiskey that has Amburana involved.  I may go try a cachaca with Amburana, however, as Brazilian distillers should know how to work with it.

Enjoy a bottle kill pour of KC9 while watching football until the new Hallmark Christmas movie comes on. 😜

Geez, it is isn't even Halloween.  Speaking of Halloween, what the heck happened to Uma Herman?  I really loved the Kill Bill movies but she has really let herself go.

Finished the bottle of KC9 and decided on another pour, OF Rye 100 on a rainy night in Indiana.

This is what my beagle woke up to this morning.  I wonder why she wanted to come in.

Actually, a slightly off topic yet funny story.  My wife and I were working outside yesterday afternoon during a fairly solid rainpour. I was working in the shed, she was outside clearing the flower garden.  When it started raining, she just pulled her hood up.  The beagle was howling and wanting to go in the house.  😀

picked this up the other day at Meijer's.  Yes, I know that it is MGP juice but Fox and  Oden didn't screw it up.  I am now at the point that I am asking myself:  "If I don' know how many bourbons I have, why do I keep buying bourbon?"  I have a friend with a gun collection that has the same issue.
