GeeTen
Woof - what a game. I thought the Maize & Blue was going down in the late fourth quarter, but they pulled it out (easily) in OT and 'Bama choked! On to Houston and the Championship game. I think I emptied the L&K WFP - good thing I have a few more in The Bunker . . . . .

Pat I deeply regret not buying a case of this when it was readily available on the shelves, but at $80 that was pretty pricey for me at the time. I guess I should just feel lucky that I did have the opportunity to own and drink a couple of these bottles.

fishnbowljoe
Long day. I attended an Interesting “neighbors” meeting tonight with an alderman, alderwoman, city neighborhood specialist, district police chief, city police chief and mayor. Interesting and productive meeting. Meeting went long, so I didn’t have time to go to the Legion for a beer with an alderwoman and her husband. Her husband Joe is the city council rep for my ward. Oh well, maybe next time. Wheater Wednesday with several pours of MM at home instead. A different, regularly scheduled neighborhood meeting next Tuesday. Stay tuned.

flahute
As part of my holiday drinking plan to open the good bottles, I opened an old school Stagg Jr. As with many of those early bottles they were not great on their own and needed some help. I had a 1792 12yr open so was blending with that. Sometimes OK, sometimes not. Tonight, I tried blending it with standard BT. Perfection. So strange how it takes just the right complement to make it sing.

At least in my neck of the woods anyway.

I don't really care for it .

But I still prefer BT over ER10 usually.
BobNY
I Joined here a couple of weeks ago as a beginner and received some excellent advice. I have been trying different bottles that were recommended to me and have been having lots of fun trying to to develop my pallet and ability to pick out the different smells and flavors. It has been difficult to identify much of of anything in what I have been drinking. I like what I am drinking, but just have trouble knowing what and why. This week at work was a nightmare. Lots of stress. I decided tonight regardless of weather I am ready for it or not I am going to open one of the nicer bottles I have bought and see what happens. I was greeted by an immediate aroma explosion. I could smell and taste so many different things. I finally could pull out vanilla, toffee, etc. I looked at the tasting notes after and everything was there with exception of slight orange peel (that one escaped me) . I feel I had a breakthrough. I am guessing the quality of the bottle had a a lot to do with it, but I do feel that this bottle will help me with others moving forward. This was such great experience. One I hope to replicate very often.
