jburlowski
EWSB 1996... I will have to post tasting notes on this one.
full_proof
I just purchased a bottle of EWSB 1996, too, but have not opened it yet. I have a 1995 that is about ½ gone, and have thoroughly enjoyed it (hangs on the glass well, great balance of tannins, medium sweetness with some wood smoke, medium burn with a nice lingering fininsh). I look forward to reading your notes. I eyeing some other years of EWSB, as my reading (Cowdery et al) has revealed the bottling-years are quite distinct, with improvements developing with the progression of the release years. wskybnt
Got a new bottle of GTS last week, just opened it tonight. I may have to follow it up with last years version, cause this years seems to taste like 140 proof bourbon, where as I dont remember the same bit from last year's.. full_proof
MM followed by a Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat from the Brewmaster's Collection. I think I just got my mojo back! :slappin:
wskybnt
Cherry Wheat!! Havent had one in a couple of years. Me and a friend love those. Not something that you sit down and drink 4 or 5 of but, 1 or 2 is a nice change of Taste for beer..Following up the GTS with VW Rye, inspired by a thread I just read... Father&Son
Two pours of Knob Creek. Sat outside on the back porch and watched the sun set on 7" of freshly-fallen Virginia snow. The cold gradually chilled the whiskey as we talked and made it smoother with every sip. Very pleasant!
fog
Today, I tried EC 12 for the first time, shortly after purchasing the bottle.I had read here that this is a bourbon which most either love or hate; I love it.

Virus_Of_Life
Vintage 17, not impressed. It is fine enough bourbon, but not for $50+ it doesn't compare to the BMH 16 and quite frankly tastes much like EC18. Put it side by side with Buffalo Trace and, well, it was inferior in every aspect at more than twice the price.
JDutton
I tried a variety of Van Winkle's last night. I wanted to figure out which I like best. I started with some Lot B, followed by PVW 15, and finished with some ORVW 10/107. They were all very enjoyable. I thought I'd share my observations:The Lot B, though very nice, was my least favorite. I think the others just seem to have a fuller flavor, more than I would expect from the difference in proof. The PVW 15 was probably the best overall. The ORVW was not quite as smooth, but improved when I added a few drops of water. Based on last night, I'd say the ORVW was probably the best value for the money.Jeff

Lot B, while having great flavor, tastes a bit flat to me. I assumed it was due to proof differences (both the 10 and 15 years are 107 proof), but I it goes beyond that. For the difference in prices between the 10 and the other 2, value for money goes to the 10. But the 15 is probably my favorite overall bourbon.-Kevin
CrispyCritter
I started out with Wiser's 10yo Canadian, and then a pour of '06 ER17. Now, I'm sipping some '06 Stagg to round out the night.

full_proof
After a pretty tough day at the office, two fingers of WTRB, followed by a Samuel Adams Lager. Jazzhead
Nipping at the bottom third of a bottle of Woodford Reserve. It's an older one, so I assume its honey Old Forester. Ain't got no problem with that!
