Wet and damp in DC area today so I settled in with a ER 101 and a Cohiba Siglo VI tubo. I suspect it is from 2007/8. Great construction and a perfect burn. Dark Colorado wrapper and a nice grassy / roasted nut flavor profile.

i had the Fonseca 5-50 last week, which i really liked.

and then over the weekend i picked some Blantons to go with a couple smokes. i had the Olivia O Robusto and the Robusto Maduro. thought the maduro was much better, had a more balanced flavor and a bit of sweetness to it, whereas the other was a bit bitter.

Last night I had an Excalibur No. III that was absolutely excellent (better htan the last few I remember having) and complimented very nicely by the end of a bottle of VOB BIB.

Enjoyed a couple more hand rolled cigars last night. About 1/2 way through the second stick, I started to feel it. That was a powerful smoke.

Macanudo Maduro Prince Phillip. Given to me by a friend for my birthday a week or two ago.

I usually don't buy Macanudo's, but I may start now...

Last night I had an Arturo Fuente Opus X 1992 Rare Estate Reserve along with the last of my tax-stamped, dimpled bottle of Old Forester BIB. It was a great pairing; however, any cigar goes well with any bourbon or rye.

Enjoying my first Ashton ESG. Good flavor but mild. Received this in trade.

IMO a way over priced cigar.... I enjoy the plain old Ashton corona's... great cigar. If I am feeling flush (or if Greg is buying) I grab an Ashton VSG Illusion which is one of the few premium cigars IMO is worth the $$$.

Enjoyed a EO 601 Black Robusto before making dinner. I'm not normally a Connecticut wrapper smoker, but today it was quite nice, with a cafe au lait flavor following a lightly spiced opening. Medium-Full bodied.

Ejoyed a Hoyo de Monterrey Pirimide from a special release 2004 humidor. I was gifted this cigar by a friend. Classic HdM flavor profile, rich creamy, very well constructed.

I always find cigars taste better when enjoyed with friends.... and one of my "bestest" friends is Greg aka ggilbertva. One great gentleman to enjoy a cigar and a pour with.

Last evening we enjoyed a bit of beer, a few pours of bourbon, some great Firehouse sub shop sammies (thanks Greg!!!) and several cigars... Upmann Mag 48 EL.... one of my favorite new releases, Punch #11.... a discontinued offering and the Partagas Salamone LCdH.

One of those last minute get together that just makes life a little better...
