ND OGD 86 circa 1971 and the knowledge that I am probably not going to have to work this weekend make for a relaxing evening.

Evan Williams Single Barrel 2000 vintage. I am really fond of this bourbon, and not just for the price. I don't have the most developed palate, but over time I have noticed a milk chocolate taste in the mid palate, with very noticeable coffee in the finish. Maybe I'm just crazy and imagining things. I do love it, though.

I know a place with a few each of the 21, 23, and 25. I've been holding out to pull the trigger, as they're all over $100, and I haven't seen too many reviews. I trust you Oscar, so I think I'll pass. I like the wood.

So, are you liking it more?

Absolutly.

It's a fine bottle of bourbon, I hope Parker has some more wheaters coming.

As much as I like this Ritt 25yo you got me to thinking that it would be better if it had more wood taste to it.

Rebel Reserve-- now just about the only wheater that isn't Maker's or Pappy-- and the only Weller-recipe wheater that isn't Pappy, here in PA...

...too bad, because I miss Weller Antique (107). But this Rebel Reserve (I think it uses Heaven Hill's "Old Fitz" mashbill) really is quite good.

That extra oak flavor can only be found in bourbons around 18yrs old and up. Now that I think about it, I've never had a bourbon over 18 that didn't have some serious oak. Since the Ritt was aged for 25 years, and it's not that woodsy, I would question the age.

Went to 25 cent oyster night at a local bar and noticed from my table that they had really stepped it up on the bourbon selection. They had some pretty solid stuff behind the bar; Pappy 15 and 20, Ole Potrero (i think that is how you say/spell it), 4Roses SB, and the first two Buffalo Trace Experimental's.

I chose to start with the Pappy 15 since I had never had it. I was really hoping to taste one of the BT Experimental's, but they wanted $20 a pour (2 ounces) and for someone like me that came for 25 cent oysters I passed. I did have Ole Potrero though and it was quite tasty (it was $10 a pour and so was the Pappy 15 I started out with).

So to summarize, I enjoyed a pour of Pappy 15 and moved on to Ole Potrero, which I've read about occasionally on this forum, but never seen any where around my parts.

I winning night at poker last night. Undoubtedly, due to the healthy pours of ETL and 1792, and Not my usual donkey play. :D

I did have uncut Blanton’s yesterday before going to a spa event in the relax department of our local swimming place with my work last night. Then some ORVW 10/107 there from a plastic mug and VWFRR back home. The latest pour was the best to my mode yesterday.

Sauna, massage and Jacuzzi felt good in this austere dark period of the year.

Went to the store and grabbed some more ER 10/90. They were out, they were also out of 4RSB and had only 1 bottle of 4RsmB. I went to another store to get the ER 10/90 but am pleased that the 4R is selling here.

Killed off a bottle of FRSmB 2010 LE, while trying to finalize the menu / activities for the long Thanksgiving weekend.

I want to be free and let things happen; but my wife feels otherwise. Thanks to her, things usually work out pretty well.

After a spicy dinner, I started the evening with some Aqua Perfecta framboise eau de vie as a palate cleanser and now I'm hip deep in a pour of OGD 114 from a bottle that somehow got shuffled to the back of the cabinet.

I need a way to snag a bottle of the Finger Lakes peach brandy if it is still out there.

While putting up the Christmas tree I had a couple pours of Pappy 15...I would have had more but the bottle wouldn't give anymore! :(

Earlier, some NAS Weller Antique.

I almost drizzled some on some Super Sugar Crisp. But I went with milk instead.
