Since this thread is the "what bourbon are you drinking" thread, I won't say that I'm having my very first of the 2010 Handy now.

I'm having the last pour from a bottle of OWA 7/107. Good to the last drop. :yum: Joe

Kicking the afternoon off with a few oz. of Bourye. Big agressive rye nose, with a sweet candy bourbon finish. Not too bad.

Just now getting into an OWA 7/107. It's just passed noon, what can I say?

WL Weller 12yo Binny's selection, neat.

Great nose on this bourbon, wish I could say that about me.

To accommodate the snow chaos we got here in Sweden I had an uncut Blanton’s before dinner. Not possible to drink neat but with a lot of water and oxidation in both the glass and bottle it was fairly good. Then WRMCSO after dinner. Not much left in the bottle and I will miss it a lot if cant get another bottle for sure.

Sounds very tasty Leif! We've had a few flakes here so far this Autumn, but nothing too bad so far.

After I had some of the Bourye I mentioned earlier, I had some of Dave Pickerel's Whistle Pig. Man, what a great rye. A really, really special whiskey. Definitley worth the steep price. And a label that is clear as day. Bottled in VT, imported from Canada.

I got home from work today, and treated myself to a pour of Centennial. Whilst sipping, I was doing a little updating of my inventor/spreadsheet. For some reason, I decided to whip up another batch of Wild Turkey Joe's Reserve. :skep: I had an empty handle, so I thought what the heck. For those that weren't at the sampler, it's my 1:1 vatting of WTRB and RR 10/90. It's pretty darn tasty to me, and those that tried it at the sampler seemed to like it too. Vosgar stopped by my house for a few minutes on his way home from work, and we had a pour. :yum: Guess I know what I'll be bringing with me to the bowling alley tomorrow night. :slappin: Cheers! Joe

2009 Stagg brought to 107 proof while watching the latest Ralfy video (Rittenhouse BIB) with a shout out to us here on SB. The only American whiskey I think he has misfired on so far is Knob Creek (and I'll trust him on Western Gold). Not surprising that he has high marks for Stranahans either.

It was a WT shoot out. The three contenders were a Rear Breed from 94, one from 99 and a WTKS pewter top from "if I had to guess 98". The writing on the Spirit was all but gone. I think the indention on the neck label might be a 98. The overall winner for me was the 99 WTRB. I was expecting one of the other two.

Elmer T Lee.

Definitely a change of pace, but still very nice. It feels like it's been awhile since I've poured anything < 100 proof.

That's exactly the same combination I've been using to top off my bottle of WT AS. Started doing it when it was about one third full and never let it get more than half empty, so it will always have a few molecules of the AS in there. Personally I feel it's been improving over time.

A favorite scene from WKRP in Cincinnati:

Station manager Andy walks in on advertising exec Herb, who is pouring the contents of some green bottle into an empty Chivas Regal bottle.

Andy: What are you doing?

Herb: Aging Scotch.

Oh, yes, on topic: yesterday pm had some Handy, a sample of which was sent to me by a generous fellow SB.com'r. Tasty stuff, but I'm still undecided as to whether I'd spend $77 for a bottle.

Weller 12yo. A real bargain at $24.50. Local Hy-Vee has about a dozen. A buddy and I might clear 'em out!
