Just stumbled on a handle of paper label OWA 7 yr. Dropped a Parker's Golden Anniversary in the basket, too.

Don't know what made me stop. I had been in the store yesterday, and they didn't have anything (that I saw), out of the ordinary. But, I stopped anyway, and just as I had given up, I spotted something dark standing out in the Vodka section.

Apparently, somebody stuck a bottle of Handy behind a few Vodka bottles. I don't know if it was just old overflow that they forgot to pull out, or if somebody had buried it, hoping for it to be there when they came back... but either way, it came home with me.

Finished up the day with the KC Rye, Catoctin Roundstone Rye, and Henry McKenna Single Barrel, which was on sale at North Carolina ABC for a great price of $19 and change.

The price is about right for EC18, just depends if you like it (or want to try it). I will probably snag one next time I see it around for that price.

If I'm not mistaken, EC18 is experiencing low inventory and will be no more for about 4-5 years once current stock has sold out. I believe the HH Facebook mentions the current status from posts a few weeks back?

Might want to consider it a buy, if nothing else for the bunker, current enjoyment or future trade bait.

Somehow I missed hearing about that so I may have to pick up another bottle or two for the cabinet. It's still around in abundance here in Chicago but now I'll start paying closer attention to the shelves to see if it starts disappearing.

No. I've been buying most stuff from another place lately, as they have better prices than Binny's. But I'll check out what Binny's has due to the Memorial Day weekend sales.

Thanks for the tip. I thought I read that the EC 20 year would be hitting shelves for awhile, at exorbitant prices, replacing the 18...or something along those lines. I'll pick one up the next time I'm over there. Quite a few on the shelves, so if it is still there great, if not oh well.

Amazing. The stores around me in NYC stoped selling the FRSmB. Maybe they just ran out or maybe they finally ran out and aren't getting more. I'm starting to question this bourbon boom. is it a boom, or hype?:skep:

The single barrel is $40 here, and that's when it's on sale. SmB is from $32-40. That, and only that, is the reason I don't have any 4R in my closet except for the gift shop bottles I got in KY. The SB and SmB are cheaper everywhere online, so I'm saving up to make a huge purchase, as it's my favorite non-specialty bourbon and every time I have something else, I wish I were drinking the SB.

Wow. Great deal! Anytime you can grab the Single Barrel for $30 or less is time to make the purchase.

Our prices here in Chicago are similar. FRSmB typically goes for around $30 but I can often find it on sale for $25-$28. FRSB is generally in the upper $30's but can be found for under $35 on sale. When I see $30 it's time to pounce! I've never had a disappointing bottle of Single Barrel and have often had outstanding ones, so I always have the stuff on hand. I tend to skip on the Small Batch and just pay the few extra bucks for the Single Barrel, though the Small Batch is quite nice too.

I was going to order a ton of them at a time from TPS. After shipping costs, they should run just under $40 a bottle, as long as the SB is on sale.

Wow, that's awesome! Are there any butterscotch notes? I've had dusties from every company except Four Roses (blended, not worth it) and HH. The others all have butterscotch, but HH is so menthol and dry corn now that I'd be really interested in trying their old stuff. Did they do anything to fit in with the others?
