Had a Uinta Cahoots Rye IPA tonight. Good stuff.

I've gone through at least a case of their Hop Notch IPA over the last few weeks - bright citrus hops and a sweetly mellow finish make for a perfect summer IPA. It's been consoling me while Zombie Dust has been on sabbatical these last few months.

Not drinking yet but picked up CBC Sgt. Pepper, Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast, Westbrook/Evil Twin/Local Option Plastic Man, Prairie Gold, and a few AtG Bo and Lukes.

Best you ever saw. Don't hoard the Bo and Luke. Not much out there but more to come.

Stone Cali-België Belgian IPA and Deschuttes Hophenge Experimental Imperial IPA. Both were quite enjoyable.

Relaxing after work with a few Heineken's. Sometimes I just love a good, ice cold skunky beer!

At least you are honest with yourself. Have to respect that!

I love a good, hoppy IPA too. But sometimes you just gotta change it up!

Will do. May go looking for a fresh Midas Touch to serve as a comparison, if there is any around.

Really want to crack open the Noble Rot as well but it is a bomber and so it may have to wait for the weekend.

Opened the oldest Midas Touch I had left which was from Aug 2011. Seemed none the worse for time. Maybe a bit more mellow but I keep forgetting to pick up a fresh set for comparison. This one spent most of its life hiding in the back of the fridge.

I like Midas Touch. Man, I need to get more beer. I only have an old bottle of Double Dog and DFH 120 in the fridge right now and I'm not in the mood to drink those.

...bourbon, here I come.

Pre-gaming for the WWE ppv with an Arctic Panzer Wolf. Sometimes I think all the high quality imperial/double IPAs start to taste the same, but damn this is a good one.

Relatively new to Chicagoland--Ballast Point IPA from San Diego. Very nice ale with a dry, slightly bitter finish. Check it out!

Southern Tier - Creme Brûlée Imperial Milk Stout - the nose reminds me nothing of a beer, rather dessert in a glass. Tequila Rose comes to mind. Looking forward to how this one will age over the next year. Suprisingly, I actually picked up a little bitterness.

Happy to hear they were enjoyable! I have a handful of those (along with the port, sherry and calvados finished varieties), some from the 2006 vintage and some from 2008, that I need to check out soon!

Finishing what may be the last of the Founder's Cerise I have that I recently found hiding in the back of the refrigerator with the DFH Midas Touch. Still very pleasant even if the cherry is a bit subdued. This bottle was probably from 2011.

It's already sweet and winey when fresh - I imagine those won't fade much in the cold. Did you pick up the herbal notes?

Good grief, now I want some badly!

Yes, I thought they were still there if perhaps a bit muted. Just need to find a relatively current one to compare it to. The others I have are not quite as old but have been sitting in the basement, not the refrigerator. Once I get around to getting a newer one I will give them a try.

I can't get Dales Pale Ale in OK so I brought back a case from CO. Had a couple last night, tasty.

Having a Pale Morning Ale at Hopper's brewpub. Another Utah brewery I don't make it to very often.
