Gents,

I need a favour from you all. I am about to propose to the girlfriend and instead of doing the custom of having bubbly after it, I am going to crack open a bottle of GTS (her favorite bourbon and something she does not stop talking about).

Now, I can get GTS here in Sydney, but I can only get the 2013 and that proof does just not cut it. She first tried the 2010 and loved that. I dont expect to find that around still, but I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of a 2011 or 2012.

If anyone knows a place (and will ship to Sydney) and that is not astronomically priced, please shoot me a PM.

Thanks

Stephen

I wish you all the very best, the brief time I meet her she seems a very nice lay who even brought you a bottle of Buffalo Trace and got it signed for you by Harlan :)

Others can probably help you more with your hunt than I can. I wold suggest to make a telephone call to the guy from that store I told you about ad you visited, he usually has some bottles not always jus the current one and he may very well have some older bottles in his own collection that he may part with for such a story. He would also likely know of other places in Sydney that may have it.

Best of luck

Brendan

Which Parker's? I've only had the 2010, 2012, and 2013 editions and they are all worth buying at least once. I can't imaging the Four Roses is anything less than very good and very much in line with the house profile, but I haven't had it.

The Parkers is really good, hard and strong but surprisingly balanced even with a drop of water. Havent seen any 4R apart from the small batch, which I really enjoy, but then I revisit ETL and everything comes a distant second.

The lack of FR in our market is really something that annoys me more than just a little.

But, lets say if we all had a choice on what we would like to see released here, what would everyone's preference be?

ETL sounds like a really good idea right now.

Well I suppose the yellow label and small batch are available on a limited scale but the prices aren't even close to where they should be. I'd love to see the 100 proof single barrel and some of the cask strength LE's. I'm amazed FR doesn't have widespread distribution here honestly.

Agree with the prices the yellow label in Uk is 20 uk over here $80 I have seen. Been saying up if the 40th is worth the $250 or not, it's a nightmare for prices here :(

I would be happy to see four roses single, weller 12, OGD bonded, fighting cock and full proof bulleit and buffalo trace.

Oh yeh and knob creek needs to be widespread and a less offensive price, shit stop being greedy already you sons of bitches

Apart from all that good stuff we dont get, I just wish they wouldn't water some of the ones we do get. 90 proof Makers for example. It is also hard to take Beam seriously at 74 proof.

I'm pretty happy with what we have, and readily admit I haven't tried it all yet. If I had to pick though, it'd probably be another wheater or maybe some Barton.

Still trying to drink the Knobs Creek Single Barrel, still don't like it. It has a strong alcohol burn/taste that I don't like, yet I like plenty of bourbons with a higher proof, I could just have a dud barrel. I ha tried it straight, with some water and with ice

I think I will buy another botte of Bulleit 10 year old, that is some nice tasting stuff.an for $60 at IGA is well priced in our market.

I will have to crack open the bottle of Rock Hill Farms that Vietish pointed out were to buy, hopefully I get the chance over the weekend to taste it :)

That pretty much describes my experience with KC. Not a big fan, but I can choke it down if I have too. :)
