I've not seen Bulleit 10 anywhere up here.... mind you I haven't been looking hard either. Drank some Dickel 12 at a BBQ yesterday, but in true Aussie style will admit I mixed it with Coke Zero (it was a hot day).... Came home an finished with a pour of Knob Creek (love the stuff, don't like the SB though) and ORVW 10/107.

Vanilla ice cream with a little caramel drizzled on top. Depending on the day, I get a rye kick too.

I had two pours of Rock Hill Farms over the weekend, It has a great nose. I really liked it and I can see it getting better about mid bottle.

All this talk about ETL has me thinking I need to get another bottle of it soon, ever time I go to buy a bottle I usually decide to pick up the Eagle Rare 10 year old for $30 cheaper.

That's sad.... and even sadder will be if someone pays it.

What is also sad is that my bottle (which i got for $300) was stolen.. Easing the pain however was the fact they didnt take my unopened ORVW 23 box which was on the shelf below.. but still, its sad to know that bottle was probably downed by some stupid punks in a park for the purpose of getting drunk.. along with the Pappy 20, 15 and GTS.. :hot::hot::hot:

Yeah, that blows. I hung onto my SB.com Pappy 23 bottle for years, telling myself I'd open it for the next big occasion and the next big occasion. In the end I opened it for my Dad's 73rd birthday... and while it is an amazing whiskey, I think the hype and build up left me feeling like it was somewhat less. It was great to share with my Dad and his brother though. I've got a couple of great photos and memories of the night.

Paid $150 for the 15 a couple of years back. To be honest, I'm sick of reading about 'Pappy'.

Pappy is only going to get more expensive over here now, I did see a 23 for $600 the 20 for 380 and the 15 $270 crazy prices.

How was this stolen ? That bloody crazy :(

Just a random break in. They took a half full bottle of jim beam, some cinnamon whiskey and absinthe aswell.. they were all sitting on a shelf in my pantry. On that same shelf which wasnt taken were the first 5 bottles of Parkers Heritage, AH Hirsch 16, ORVW23 Decanter, WLW and Handy.. they literally took what they could hold...

Thankfully my bourbon room has bars on the window :skep: I've often thought of putting a a webcam there, but the room also doubles as a study so they'd probably steal the laptop the webcam was recording too

Went to a few different bottle shops today.

Only things I saw were some old label turkey in the mid size and an old label handle of turkey, which I had never seen before and thought about, but decided its not going anywhere and I should be able to pick it up later if I really want 1.75 liters of turkey.

Also saw James E Pepper, but I dont know enough about it to buy just yet.

Well those bottles of PVW have sold at nicks! Good luck to the purchase and I hope they enjoy it.

Interesting too see that Nicks range is pretty crappy these days, anyone here know whats going on?

I order a few bits today some nice vermouth and a nice bottle of Bourbon, had a call saying the bourbon is out of stock and the order would have to wait until it was in to be shipped. The prices of some of the bourbons are way over the top. Vwfrr $600 a bottle and lot b crazy prices. The selection is also going down hill

I notice it's Nicks who have the VWFRR for $600 and the Lot B for $300. I distinctly recall them being listed for $175 and $190 respectively late last year, and I thought that was over the top. As for that PVW23 that sold, it works out at $215 for 1 oz. pour ...

Obviously they can charge whatever they like, and the prices can be justified (to a degree) if people are buying, but it's still a slimy way to do business IMHO. Their recent pricing strategy has also made me reluctant to buy anything from them, but that just me and my "principles".
