Opened a new bottle of FRSmB tonight. This one always seem right in my taste wheelhouse. Seems like the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. Will probably have a couple of pours of this during the Eagles/Saints game.

Enjoying a nice victory pour following the Colts incredible comeback win over the Chiefs. I am celebrating with a small pour of Willett WFE 9-yr (Vine &Table). A tasty and complex pour, much like the Colts game plan against the Chiefs. At 129 proof, it doesn't take much to enjoy this bourbon. I already have a Crown WFE 8-yr on deck for a follow up. Much like the Colts, I have a game plan!

Great plan! Goooooo Colts! What a game! My plan included ECBP and FR PS OBSF.

Spent some time with WTRB tonight. It had been a few months and a reunion was overdue. About six oz. neat did the trick.

six ounces would put me on the floor.

we went to a friends house tonight for a few hours of Cards Against Humanity. He has a 'wall of liquor' and told me to pick anything I wanted, and I grabbed a JDSB and a Woodford Maple Finish, as I'd not had either. The JD was quite 'chemically', and though I expected the Woodford to be more mapley-sweet than it was, it was a decent drink. Regardless, I went with HH6 for the rest of the night.

I started on it at the bar. Then nursed it through dinner and dessert. It was a wonderful pour from a great bartender, as I think he charged me either $5.50 or $6 for it.

Had a little issue with the cork, which I expected, but the end result was something memorable.

When I acquired this, I made promise to myself on when I would open it. Sadly that time came.

I was gifted this a couple of years ago from my granduncle's bar, where it has been sitting for near forever.

Friday, on a cold blustery afternoon, we laid him to rest south of Joliet, Il at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Even frozen as it was, the grounds are beautiful.

I'm grateful for the lessons he taught me, and for the time I was able to have with him. He will forever be missed.

Indeed. Thanks for sharing and sorry for your loss. Sounds like a perfect way to honor the man and the lessons he shared with you.

I second what Sean said and when you feel like it I also second the request for tasting notes.

Heading over to my brother's house for the last Holiday get-together of the season. Figuring a pour of GBS ETL will start things off nicely.
