Yesterday I went to a small locally owned store that I like to support and finally picked up some Ezra Brooks 12yr. The regular Saturday afternoon guy that works there has been recommending this one to me for more than a year but I haven't been interested. Tried it at the across the street from work bar a couple weeks ago and decided it worthy of adding to the collection.

Also, after stating on these pages that I would not cave into to WT Diamond Anniversary, I budged off my spot after seeing it on sale for $90. I guess my WN kicked in and overruled my better senses. Sighhhh.......It's a process! Not all of us are as disciplined as the Fox and squire.

Didn't buy but I accepted a bottle of larceny and a bottle of Bernheim in lieu of reimbursement for a bottle of ECBP batch 3 I picked up for a friend several months ago. Well, I actually had a batch 6 for him, but let him choose and he picked batch 3.

I know some SBers would probably question this trade, but keep in mind that I originally bought the bottle for him. More importantly, I actually like both Larceny and Bernheim better than ECBP, so I think both of us are very happy with the end result.

IMO trade value should be your value rather than "market" or perceived value. If you are happy w the trade, do it. Don't let the herd mentality dictate your satisfaction.

Hah well I mostly just explained myself to cut off any polite suggestions that I had lost my mind. I guarantee both of those bottles will be gone far faster than my last remaining bottle of ECBP. Assuming I don't trade or gift that one away as well if something more interesting comes along.

mrs fox went to Costco with a friend yesterday while i was at work and texted me their bourbon prices. I told her the KC at $24 was a great price, and there was one on the table when i got home. i think i'll keep her!

Didn't purchase, but was gifted a bottle of Henry McKenna 10 SB BIB for helping a friend out at work. Was totally unnecessary given the level of help, but I do love me some Henry McKenna!

Three 1 Liter bottles of Weller 12.

When I saw the online inventory of a store about a half hour from my office was showing 11 of these in stock, I called to confirm.

They said "Well, we had 11, but some guy just bought eight of 'em".

I said "I'll be right over for the other three".

-So which one of you guys grabbed the other eight?

Yesterday I received a few bottles I had ordered: two WT12s and an old label Rare Breed (one of the 1995 batches).

Managed to find a bottle of EWSB from 2003 today. I have seen lots of '04 and started seeing '05 hitting the shelf already, but have not seen an '03 in a really long time. Have never had any EWSB but believe it is the same mash bill as EC12 which I love so here is to hoping its good.
