Having a pour of the Kirkland I picked up today. So far a good first impression. As others have noted, similar to KC but less oaky. Very smooth at 103prf. Now that it is open and as I continue to imbibe, I am certain that I will notice some additional nuances.

KC120 at a restaurant tonight, had a tasting of O.K.I while at Liquor Barn, now drinking HH6BIB. It's good to come back home to Kentucky!

A little pour of EWBIB neat, another small pour with an ice ball, and a pour of FRSiB LE 14.

PH8 Wheat Whiskey. Have not had this in a couple months. Oh my how I've missed you. Get the water ratio just right and it's a beautiful thing.

I usually drink bourbon neat but 2 nights ago I tried drinking my whisky over an ice ball. I started with Mellow Corn. I didn't like what the ice did for it. It seemed to lose too much flavor. Next I tried OGD 114. Wow! The ice too away a lot of the burn and heat without sacrificing much flavor or complexity. I will definitely try this one again.

Enjoyed a bunch of stuff last night including WTRB, 1792, Bakers (which I am liking more and more every time I try it).

Hadn't had a drop of alcohol in almost a week. Got home from work last night and celebrated Friday with a soak in the hot tub and a pour of Larceny. Then a John J. Bowman Pioneer Spirit after dinner, topped the evening off with some Willett 10 year. Very enjoyable.

WT101 and Coke, say what you will...I enjoy it. If Elmer T Lee can mix his bourbon with 7up, I can mix with whatever I please. Earlier I had a couple fingers of RR10.

You ain't got to 'splain yourself around here Golzee. Just drink what you will, anyway you please. Only rule here is to have fun doing it!

I'm going to start with a little SB Blend this evening, and see where it takes me.

KC neat in a Glencairn then WT101 with ice in one of the marvelous heavy-bottomed rocks glasses they sell at the distillery. Have had two and a half handles of WT101 so far this year and am enjoying it more all the time. At this rate, well....

Thanks Paddy, I'm havin a great time and enjoy SB greatly. Somebody earlier this week (at a liquor store) lectured me on how bourbon "should" be drank, I'm a little hot from that still.

VOB and coke zero for me. I was digging up a well established bush in the yard and replacing it with a southern magnolia. It was 89 degrees today. I was hot, and needed a drink. There is a time and a place for me to drink neat or with a cube. This afternoon was not one of those times. Drink what you like, how you like. I personally choose to not mix with my better bourbons. Im not a huge VOB fan so I had no problem putting it in coke. You will also notice a few of our long time members have bourbon and coffee many mornings. Speaking of.....I have Mon off. Bourbon and coffee is mighty tasty.

Emptied a bottle of Larceny about 2 1/2 ounce pour while watching Duke beat MSU. Going to work on a bottle of FR OESK next. :grin:

Yeah, about that......if you haven't read it here yet, you soon will (right now in fact).....you really can't rely on much of what you are told at a liquor store.

I'm starting off the night with some '13 Lot B. Went to the premium cabinet with something else in mind, and went completely spontaneous and off script and poured myself a healthy one. My palate must be tuned to this one tonight because it's tasting darn near perfect and a step above the usual Weller 12 pour. This means that tomorrow it will taste flat and smokey so I'll enjoy tonight's pour to the fullest.

I went to the premium cabinet too but ultimately ended up opting for something less premium. Decided to save the premium stuff and opted for a newer offering - Tom's Foolery. Pretty tasty for a 2 year old bourbon.

Visiting family so I finished off the dregs of their bulleit & WT101. They tried to give me white wine, but it just made me all the happier to have a glass of whiskey.

I just smile and nod on my way out the door. Life's too short to argue with idiots, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. Learned that lesson through years spent in gun stores. :)
