Yes Joe, they really hit a sweet spot with me on this one. I bet it'd make a hell of a slushie!

You sure were persistent

Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks, quite persistent! I thought I would take 3 swings before putting down the bat. It didn't pan out. However, tonight was much better!

At that point it might be more productive to snort it.

Haha, not that desparate. Cough syrup probably wasn't a bad idea given my condition but not what I want in a bourbon.

Look at the bright side, I don't think your sinus infection is going to become a bad cough...;).

I empathize with you. I have caught a cold, or something, and am trying to plow through it. This stuff ain't 'spose to happen in the Summer...:(

I know...I hate Summer colds and sinus infections. Don't get them often but when I do, they always kick my ... However, all is right with the world tonight. I opted for old WTR101 to reset my palate, from there I expanded to Stagg Jr. and then FR SmB. All have hit on all cylinders tonight.

I hope you get to feeling better soon! :toast:

Today I my yearly battle with the ivy and blackberry that invades the juniper bushes on the hillside behind our house. Except that I was lazy last year and didn't get to it so I had two years worth - bad call on my part. It was a war of attrition but I prevailed, though I lost some skin and a blood along the way. Unfortunately, I left some partisans behind (the roots that I couldn't get pulled out because I couldn't reach them) so I'll be fighting this war again. I'm kicking back now and rewarding my efforts with some BT and 4R OBSK. I'll probably hit JB BIB next. It really doesn't matter what I pour because it all tastes great after this day.

I am sipping on a 60:40 mingle I made a couple weeks ago of OWA:WSR.

Anyone ever had the WT101 cocktail mix box that comes with a mason jar and stave? I got that down stairs and was thinking about cracking it open soon to try.

Started with some SB Blend. After reading through the past couple days posts in this thread, think I'll go for some ER10 private selection next.

As I was reading your post, I was thinking what the ? Losing skin and blood is never good. I share your pain of dealing with bushes and rogue vegetation on a hillside. It sounds like you survived, slightly battered but intact AND mission accomplished (somewhat). BT and FR OBSK sound like the perfect antidote for a trying workout against rogue plants.

Grabbed a bottle of BT today when I was out running errands. I haven't had BT in a while, and the first pour of this bottle seems rather tame.

Then again, I've been drinking a good bit of Dant and EWBiB lately, so maybe I'm hooked on the HHBiB profiles. EW, Dant, J.T.S. Brown--I enjoy all of them.

HHBiB all day, with some pineapple and ginger beer this afternoon and in a whiskey sour tonight.

Best regards, Tony

Was drinking sangria at a birthday party tonight. The best optio. Came home and poured a private barrel select of Russell's Reserve Small Batch Single Barrel. Hitting the spot.

No matter how hard I try, those blackberry thorns will not be denied. Little bastards.

Beam products are not working for me tonight so I opted for ECBP hazmat as my follow up pour. It's working nicely.

Was in the sun all day so I was in the mood for something a little lighter so I had a few pours of OC last night.

Yes, I have some Rock Town Arkansas Lightning in it right now. The stuff started off as a bad moonshine, and has become a worse whiskey. Its been in the jar with the stave for about 6 months now. I think if I find another set, I will just fill the jar with WT101 and add the stave to create a deeper, richer WT101.

Starting the afternoon with the 2015 HW Bourye. This is a very easy drinking whiskey.

Just got home, doing some laundry to get ready for the week. Poured some BT SB from the CnB. Admittedly, I am not a fan of BT's ryed bourbons. I don't find them offensive, they are just not in my wheelhouse. A couple years ago, I bought a bottling from TPS. I drank it but didn't really like it. This past fall, I bought another TPS bottling and thought it was very good. Surprised the hell out of me. So, when I was at CorknBottle a couple weeks ago, I bought one of their store selections. Again, I think it is very good. It has a great mouth feel, and at 90 proof, plenty of punch and flavor. At $24, a damn good value also. So, as I'm doing my laundry and drinking this fine bourbon, 2 things have popped into my head.

1. I need to try the regular, non single barrel iteration of this, and

2. We all know, that there are truly tasty bourbons that are available to us on a daily basis, and don't break the bank

Having a small pour of PHC POH, just cracked the second to last bottle I have of this, and it's as good as I remember!

Ok, a small pour of the ECBP 128 proof, I've only had the Hazmat, and this to me is a bit sweeter, more caramel. I know most would prefer the Hazmat, but I think this batch is "better" to me. Granted, I would add a splash of water to Hazmat, this is drinkable neat.

Good to know. I think my hazmat will be finished today and the 128 proof is next on deck.
