mibourbonguy
Picked up some KC single barrel. I'm going to compare it to regular KC in a bit.
fozzy71
Picked up a bottle of the 1792 Sweet Wheat...but it's going to be a while before I taste it. Better half tells me I need to empty some of my open bottles before opening any more....HA! What does she know about it, anyway????Put some of the empty ones out of site / downstairs, open the sweet wheat, problem solved.Picked up some KC single barrel. I'm going to compare it to regular KC in a bit.I did that a while back and couldn't notice much difference IIRC other than a bit more heat on the finish. The SmB is now empty and I have been savoring the SB here and there as I have so many others to try now. I 2 x liters of each bunkered from my IN trip so I suppose it is time to pull the open SB to the front of the shelf and work a bit harder on that bottle now. GAbiker
Well, open bottles are stored on top of cabinet in kitchen so she sees them all the time. Unopened bottles in basement bunker which she doesn't see.And as they say, a Happy Wife is a Happy Life!HA! What does she know about it, anyway???? GAbiker
Have to be honest...she's not as shoe obsessed as I am bourbon obsessed. I imagine I have more bottles of bourbon than she has pairs of shoes. Did you tell her she needs to throw away some shoes before she buys any new pairs?
BonVivant84
picked up a W12 and EH Taylor BP. First Weller in a while.
rcs86
Getting a couple of the Woodford Double Double Oaked bottles tomorrow as a friend swings through town. Haven't always been the biggest Woodford fan, but I'll try almost anything once.
Golzee
Picked up an EC12 with the 12 on the front for 31.99. Probably could have gotten a new label bottle at Binnys for a few bucks cheaper, but this is my first EC12 purchase, and I want to see what it is all about. Hop
Went back through Knoxville today and stopped to pick up some champagne for my parents 70th Wedding anniversary tomorrow. While I was there I picked up 2 4RPSBP OESO that just came in as well as a PS of Belle Meade Bourbon at 9 yrs and 121 proof. Never thought I'd try this label again but tasted it at the store and was impressed.
squire
Did you tell her she needs to throw away some shoes before she buys any new pairs? I might be a scaredy cat but I'm got getting between a woman and her shoes.
OldDrinker1978
Old Grand Dad 114. Coincidence that it is also Bourbon of the month here at SB, but a great one! I can try it in 2 weeks earliest when i return from vacation though...

WhiskyBill
All this OGD 114 talk made me grab an extra. For $19.99 you can't beat it.One of my favorites, grabbed one in PA for $17 just before they stopped getting any. Still a good buy in NJ around $25. GaryT
Well, open bottles are stored on top of cabinet in kitchen so she sees them all the time. Unopened bottles in basement bunker which she doesn't see.And as they say, a Happy Wife is a Happy Life! Truer words my friend I have virtually all of my bottles in one cabinet, with most opened as the wife understands that unfortunately to simply TRY most new stuff you have to buy a whole bottle (see - we're the victims here really!) I tried moving some to the basement to make room, and when she noticed them she raised an eyebrow - so the cabinet is my "limiting factor", whether opened or not. Although the barrels on the back porch (6 liters worth) doesn't count, and she's OK with those

fozzy71
Out of town visiting family and grabbed a 200ML of Jim Beam White/80 as it was the only bourbon half pint at that store and I didn't want to buy and be forced to drink a whole pint of OGDBIB.Old Grand Dad 114. GAbiker
Gary, we're lucky enough to have found angels that will but up with our love of Bourbon. If I have to sacrifice myself by finishing off bottles of EHTBP, Old Fitz 12 yo, RHF, ETL, FR,OWA, WEller 12 etc etc, before opening new bottles, I think it's price I'm willing to pay!BillOne of my favorites, grabbed one in PA for $17 just before they stopped getting any. rcs86
Tonight I picked up a 2003 EWSB, bottle of RHF for $49, and an Elijah Craig 12 year. This is one of the few stores left around here that still has the age stated Elijah Craig, so i may go and get a couple more.
