Woodford Double Oaked for $31.99! My local Schnuck's grocery store loaded their locked liquor display incorrectly and placed the Double Oaked in the slot that was labeled "Woodford Reserve". To top it off they had a sale on regular Woodford that ran thru Aug. 4th but they never took down the sale pricing tags. They gave me the D. Oaked at the sale price, thanked me for bringing it to their attention, and immediately removed the sale tags!

Was out riding the Harley today and doing a little dusty hunting. Struck out on the dusties but found a bottle of Rock Hill Farm for $44.99. Seen it going for $65+ in Atlanta recently, so I bought it. Now sorta wish I'd have bought the other 2 that were on the shelf. But I try not to be greedy and leave some for the next guy.

Found me 2 bottles of RHF just waiting for me @ $54.99, nice to have a few of these bunkered at all times.

Smooth Ambler Old Scout 7 year old. I haven't seen it in a liquor store for a while, but a supermarket near my house still had some.

It seems that except for Smooth Ambler, just about everybody selling MGP bourbon is selling very young whiskey, i.e., around 2 years. That suggests to me that there's not very much aged MGP bourbon out there, so I figured probably not a bad idea to have a spare bottle. (I've got a 6yo from a few years ago too.)

It's my understanding LDI cashed out their aged Bourbon stocks prior to MGP taking over, the consequence being virtually all MGP Bourbon has been made in the last couple of years.

Single barrel varieties of SAOS bourbon (10 yr) and rye (8 yr) just arrived at my local store. I already have a couple of private selection bottles of the bourbon, so with the SAOS rye disappearing, I bought two bottles of the single barrel rye. And according to the label, I have "James" to thank for bottling it.

I was tempted by OWA for $23 but I think I have enough bunkered for while (famous last words).

Will be curious to hear your thoughts on the Pilar Rum in the new Rum Forum! I have tried it but will keep my thoughts to myself unless you want to go search for them in the Wednesday Tastings thread!

I bought a L of Early Times for $12.99. There is a distinct possibility that I may overserve myself this evening.

I bought a couple of FR BP for $46.75 each and tossed in a couple of mid-shelfers (FRSB and ER10) at a local store having a 15% off moving sale. They still had a lot of inventory on the shelves so I might go back for a few more bottles before they move.

If any Indy folks are interested in the store, PM me for more info.
