went to Binny's to get a bottle of Justin Cab (turns out it was on sale--$4 off!!) and checked the "locked room". saw a big bottle of Clase Azul Reposado and figured it'd be fun to have. Turns out it's a 1.75 liter for about twice the cost of a 750 ml, so it was a good deal, too.

then my wife (bless her soul) notices they have the BT Single Oak Project. South Loop Binny's was out last time we were there. Found a website where a committee (including Chuck C, I think) picked barrel 80 as the best. Found Release 12 had barrel 80, so went with that one.

Just got back from a work-related trip to Louisville last week. I also found the time to visit 7 distilleries (EW Bourbon Experience, Bulleit, Beam, 4R Bottling, Heaven Hill, Barton, and Willet) and pick up several bottles. I would have gotten more but the airline rules allow only 5 liters. I'm just glad they didn't get broken on the way home.

L to R

SAOS Liquor Barn Selection 9 year

B&E from Toddy's in Bardstown

4R PS OBSV from Liquor Barn (9y 8 mo)

4R PS OBSQ Bourbon Affair 2015 selection from the 4R gift shop (11 y, 4 mo)

HHSS 3rd Edition from HH Gift Shop

KCSB I helped bottle on the Beam tour

Old Tub BIB from the Beam gift shop.

Spent the morning moving my daughter into her apartment for her upcoming sophomore year of college. Once the heavy stuff was moved in and placed... Then repositioned... And repositioned again, I took my leave for an hour to hit the local liquor stores. Picked up a Willett Pot Still Reserve for $38 and OGD114 was on sale for $21 so had to grab one of those too!

Went on a motorcycle ride with no particular destination in mind. Ended up in a place 75 miles away. Picked up a bottle of E.H. Taylor Small Batch.

I picked up a standard Russell's Reserve so I could do a blind side by side with the GBS selection and some rare breed that I have. Another great pick by GBS!

It's a private selection, standard recipe. Just came across one that hit my sweet spot and had to clear that barrel # out...

You are a wise man.

The barrel I just had on the fishing trip is worthy of stocking up on. Unfortunately, I purchased it last year so too late.

Nice. Particularly with the move towards younger juice in the 2006 release, I would suggest snapping up any prior years of EWSB. I am happy to have several 2003 and 2004 bottles around, and they're all great.

If that Samuels was the bond, then I think it was a dusty.

Grabbed two Smooth Ambler Contradictions, the standard rye, and the single barrel cask strength rye. Speaking of, with the rye moving to special release for SA, is that just the cask strength or the standard as well?

Also, I was stoked about the Contradiction, I have yet to see or taste that one, but have heard good things.
