I struck out on the dusty hunt today, ended up with this as a consolation prize.  Reviews seem good and I like BT juice, so why not? ;)

I haven't had this one in a while.  In fact, I haven't bought it since it became available in Indiana.  I bought mine in KY.  I have never tried the Small Batch or one of the special Abraham Bowman releases. I do recall it be it being pretty good.  Enjoy!

First bottle of Buffalo Trace.

Well, you are in for a treat.  BT is a nice straight bourbon.  It works well both as a neat pour, on the rocks or in cocktails.  There is a reason Buffalo Trace labels it as their "brand" bourbon.

Picked up 2 bottles of Stagg, Jr. Batch 5. Also grabbed a Noah's Mill.

Staggjr all but dried up in my town, but I was out of town, taking the wife on a shopping trip, and found shelves of batch 4 at several LS, but I had to get the batch 5s I found. I'll probably be back next month for a couple of those Batch 4s.

Are the store picks of EC actually single barrels or store picks of different blends? Kind of interesting that a bottle labeled "Small Batch" would be a single barrel.

It was Binnys 15% off day - only recalled seeing the email at 8:45pm ( they close at 9pm )...managed to snag an Antique 107 and Special Reserve Binnys select along with a laphroaig 25 and some Sauvignon blanc for the wife...any of those bottles at 15% off is an instant buy for me

The EC are actually single barrels. Though I do agree that it sounds contradictory given the name "small batch". Right now Binny's has four different barrels - two different 8 year olds, a 9 year, and a 10 year old barrel. So far I've tried the two 8 years, and have a 10 that I've not opened yet.

Added another bottle of ECBP to my bunker (Batch 11) - $69 (the most I have paid to date)

I'm not an EC12 fan, but I would definitely pick up a store selected 8 or 9 year EC.

learned that Louisville had a Total Wine store, so the Mrs and I went to check it out while on a Costco run. HUGE whiskey aisle, with lots of stuff Id not seen before, and lacking in a lot of the BT stuff I see elsewhere regularly. Only the regular BT they had, not a single weller, RHF, ETL, etc. Some fantastic prices though.......like WT101 at $14.50.

I walked out with 15 wines for her, and for myself I picked up a CR Northern Harvest Rye, that Id been wanting to try, that I couldn't pass up at $16. But the best part was the one and only SAOS 11 year 96 proof barrel proof bourbon at $52. Was really tempted on some others too, as they had most of the HH BIB's (but no 6 year) for great prices too. We'll definitely be back.

That was my exact reasoning. For me EC is a once and a while departure from my regulars, and generally enjoy the Binny's store picks.

Was this sale at a particular Binny's downtown or store-wide?  I feel like I've signed up for every email I can, and did not see notice of this sale.  Probably saved me some money...but I think I would have made a haul had i known....

Found these two friends yesterday.  Probably should've put this in the "rye thread", but oh well.

A 2013 batch of Rendezvous and this years MWND.

Being my favorite "available" whiskey, I can't resist picking up older bottles of Rendezvous when I come across them.  At some point they are going to run out of sourced juice to make this stuff..... :(

Went to Trader Joe's in search of $20 1.75L WT101, but, it was not to be.  Ended up grabbing some beer and Trader Joe's bourbon.  Figured it was worth a try, some of their other bottlings have been decent.

Was at Trader Joes on friday, they got some of their 8 yr single malt irish whiskey back in. Good stuff, only $26 here, but not always available.

The sale was at all stores, but saturday only. Picked up a Binnys EC SB, the 9 yr, for a friend with the coupon that was emailed. Its definitely different from the old EC12. Thinner mouthfeel, and a whole lotta the HH peanut note. It reminded me of HH BIB, just a little older & lower proof.

Saw a MMCS 375ml for $20. It was much cheaper than I usually see it, so I grabbed one.

It was all stores - however - I like you didn't get the email. A friend sent it to me - I have signed up for every list there is so there is a problem on Binnys end

Charter 101 is pretty good stuff. I got huge orange marmalade off my bottle, which was I sometimes get from regular BT, but not that pronounced. It was quite nice. It's a good bourbon for the price, so hope you enjoy.

I picked up a few bottom shelfers for the collection: Evan Williams 1783 and Burnside Bourbon 4yr. The Burnside is being clearanced out of VA ABC stores now. Originally it was somewhere around $45 when first released, then it dropped to $35, and now it's $22.79. Apparently I wasn't the only one who thought it was grossly overpriced. I don't expect it to be good, but it's cheap (now) and I can use it as a mixer or for cooking if it sucks.

Wow. Orange marmalade. Your much better at this then me. Never would have thought of that but after reading your comment my wife brought me a jar of it we had in the fridge and sure enough we both noticed it.  Thanks for the response!

Today I picked up my first bottle of OGD BiB. Solid, but for the same money I prefer OGD 114
